our most cherished cat Stickley has gone to kitty cat heaven.
Born May 28, 1993- Died July 10, 2010
She came to us as a kitten from the local SPCA.
She was part mainecoon, with a tortoiseshell coat and she had a spot of orange on top of her head.
A furry and fluffy long haired bundle of love and sweetness.
She gave us many years of love and affection.
Here she is in the doorway this morning, Mr. HB took these...
Farewell my feline friend, I'll never forget you.
I may not be up to blogging for a few days...
I'll be checking in on your blogs to see what is happening in your neck of the woods.

Oh Hostess I am so very sorry, I really am -you can tell by the photos that you have posted over the last few months what a sweet natured (and very majestic and beautiful) cat she was. How very sad. Thinking of you. x

I'm so sorry.
xo
Sorry to hear your sad news! Losing a cherished pet is so hard. We lost our family dog after 12 years and we all had a BIG family cry and I kept the kids home from school the next so we could be together.
Hugs to you & your family! xo
How very sad! I think that you now just have to adjust to the loss of your fluffy Stickley!
Hugs to you : ) Mette
I am very sad to read this, I know you love your animals. I hope you plant some commemorative plants in the cat's honour. Hope you are ok, be brave xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
I am so so sorry Hostess..I weep with you.
I can't imagine losing a beloved pet.
I wish you well...
Jeanne:)
So sorry. Our furry kids give us such joy but their leaving is so painful.
I am so sorry. It is so hard losing a furbaby. I hope you are ok.
That's so sad. I'm really sorry. I've only recently discovered your blog and really enjoy it. Understand your not feeling like posting for a while. I will look out for your next post.
I'm so sorry -- the loss of any pet is tough and that Maine coon personality is so lovely and affectionate. I like Faux Fuschia's suggestion of a commemorative plant in your garden -- a new rose, perhaps?
Take care of yourself -- a granddaughter cuddle might be just what you need.
oh no! Poor kitty and poor you. I'm so sorry.
I, too, am sorry and sad. The pictures you husband took this morning are doubly sweet and precious.
Thank you all for your kind words...they men so much to me.
I have been cocooning here, reading magazines and trying to keep the tears at bay...have not been able to talk much as I just get emotional.
A bright moment came yesterday afternoon when my son, and DIL brought Isla over so I could have a snuggle...it's hard to feel sad when you are holding such a precious little bundle...who BTW is a month old today.
Oh, I just read this and am so sorry - I am terribly attached to my Maine Coon boy and can't imagine life without him. However, barring my going first in a stress related office accident, there will be life without him and someday I'll have to cope (btw I have suggested to Mr. Artful that someday the fur boy's ashes go with me, but he seems to find that morbid, can't imagine why).
I'm so sorry. Let little Isla heal you.
I'm so sorry.
Oh, I am so sorry. I'm pretty new here too and I just love the pictures I've seen of Stickley. The first time I saw her picture, I immediately liked her. What amazing pictures your husband just took on the morning too. It's as if she's looking out the door and preparing for her next journey. RIP Stickley.
Oh I'm so sorry. I know the feeling you have, as our sweet Jake died last fall. He was with us for 18 years, and in his last two, he became my daughters best friend. Even now, I'm choked up and about to cry. I'm so sorry.
I'm so sorry for your loss. We have two kitty's (also rescued and from the SPCA) and they are a part of our family, I will be heartbroken when they go to kitty heaven.
Please know that you did an amazing thing when you rescued Stickley and gave her a happy life for many, many years.
