Flowers for the wedding and my OOTD.

A group of friends got together to arrange flowers for the wedding of my best friend's niece.
It was a well organized assembly line for the table arrangements and corsages.
M who has done quite a few weddings showed her crew which flowers to use and how to build the bouquets.
Once created, the posies were tied and popped into vintage sealer jars of water.
I stood a little ways away getting the promised interior flowers done and was happy listening to the friendly banter and talk of weddings and grand children with a great group of friends.

I busied myself with the two vintage wicker urns and flowers for inside the house.

Weddings are such an exciting event especially when they involve people that we adore and dearly love
we're "almost family"
and consider ourselves fortunate to be included in this celebration of love.

The sun shone for the wedding and we had a fabulous time.

It was such a memorable day
and the happy couple are spending their honeymoon in Hawaii.
I wish them many years of health and happiness.

So much gorgeousness in this post!! Your interior arrangements are truly works of art. It looks like a wedding out of a magazine, such a beautiful locale and the cakes look divine. And YOU look smashing in that dress! The colors suit you and the venue.

What a fantastic job you did, the flowers look so natural and yet dramatic. Purple is my favourite colour so you have a fan in me. That dress looks just great on you too!

Are those individual shortcakes for the guests? How brilliant. I went to a wedding where the wedding cake was pie, and we each had our own apple pie.

My mother just sent me a huge lavender bundle from her garden on Whidbey Island. I love purple and white flowers, and your arrangements brought a smile to my face today!

You look so beautiful in your dress! I'm admiring the limelight hydrangeas and I'm very curious about the cake(s). Is that strawberry shortcake?

What a lot of fun it must have been to have a hand in doing the flowers! We have three weddings to attend in the next three weeks - one on a mountain top, one at a golf club and another in an orchard. 'Tis the season!

As I was looking at the many pictures of the flowers, it came to my mind, that you could change your career into the one of a florist!
Have you ever thought about it? Or a catering service business?
Arranging all those flowers seem so natural and easy for you, not forgetting all the wonderful food displays you have showed in your blog.
You could turn your ideas into cash, and do it even part-timely!
Impressive : )!

The flowers are amazing. You did such a great job of fitting the arrangement to the vase, and I love that they're all different. You're very talented. And your dress is lovely and fit in with the whole theme so well. Like everyone else, I'm so curious about the desert - are they small trifle puddings? Shortcakes?

First, your dress is beautiful and very flattering on you as is your hair in the outfit picture.

The wedding flowers are amazing....like fantasy dream flowers. WOW.

Thank you!
I had the dress before I knew the colour combination of the flowers for the wedding.

Purple is a new shade for me to wear, a bit of a leap in fact but I like it now!

Merci Adrienne!

it was a coincidence that the dress and the flowers match!

They were shortcakes with a little bit of custard between the layers and fruit on top. Mr. HB and I shared one as they were quite large.

I absolutely adore going to weddings.

They were a fruit shortcake with a custard between the two layers, didn't the caterer do a fabulous job of displaying them?

Summertime and weddings seem to go together...
I hope you enjoy these events.

I have thought of doing wedding flowers as a hobby but never as a money maker. The gal who organized the purchasing of the flowers told me how expensive florist's charge for weddings and I was shocked at the price. Several thousands of dollars are spent on wedding flowers!

I have my eye on retirement not a career change but if I need some extra funds I suppose I could work for a florist!

Oh my BFF has a fabulous home and garden...I will do a post sometime soon on her lovely place.

It's such fun to arrange flowers when you have a great variety of blooms and fillers and we had lots at our disposal.

We were very fortunate that the sun shone as it had been cool , rainy and cloudy the day before.

Shortcakes with fruit and a custard filling between the layers. Delicious indeed!

Thank you Lisa!

The bride is a lovely woman and I have known the families since I was about 8 years old!
Mr. HB and I introduced the brides' parents when they were in their teens and they have been together ever since! It was an honor to be involved.
