~ Shoulda ~ woulda~ coulda ~ Post 786

Do you ever replay events over in your mind and they get a little stuck?
Like a loop....
to illustrate my point the movie Groundhog Day comes to mind.
Things at work are making me a little crazy.
I know in my head and heart that I need to let it go
and I will...

~ Shoulda ~ Coulda ~ Woulda ~

“As we drive along this road called life, occasionally a gal will find herself a little lost.
And when that happens, I guess she has to let go of the coulda, shoulda, woulda, buckle up and just keep going.”

Sarah Jessica Parker as Carrie Bradshaw
Sex and The City TV series
circa 2001

Looking at the signposts of life
those proverbial forks in the road
pondering which path to follow next...

Where will it lead?
Will I pack the right clothes?
What will be around the next corner?
Will I be prepared?
When do I leave?
Who will I meet?

~ Food for thought ~

I am loving eating salads...

and then ordering this dessert with 4 forks for sharing...

I treated myself to an early birthday present.

I'll be out walking
(clad in this wonderful shade ~ Glacier Blue )
Please wave if you see me!

Hoofin' it in my Hood
wearing this stellar Lands End Polartec
Hoodie

I love this longer sleeve arrangement
with a thumb hole
my down coat has these built in and they are such a great idea
my hands are warmer

Oh so cozy
no more toothy zippers biting into our necks.

The Lands End hoodie
is a star performer.

it stretches
wicks away moisture
is wind proof and warm
 light weight
comes in bright cheery shades
what's not to love?

Thank you to whoever designed this garment.

Who designed this home?
It was on a garden tour a few years ago and I still dream about it.

This garden room is one of my favourites.
It belongs to a creative and talented gardener who lives in Oak Bay.
I'd pay money to sit here and have tea and a chat.

the cats are snuggled up contentedly snoozing on the couch
I can hear
 the kettle whistle
with the promise
of a restorative moment to sit
taking time to ponder the good things in life
whispering hushed grateful thoughts....

I'll be celebrating 58 years of life on this planet on Sunday
I feel so blessed to be alive
to see the blooms of spring
to listen to the birds sing
be a part a lovely family
and honored to have such dear friends.

Namaste

Have some fun this weekend...
and take some time to stop and smell the flowers.

Wondering how retirement (or a different job) looking to you these days?

Four forks on that little lemon tart? Please, hostess, may we order another? It's my favourite!

Your new jacket looks so warm and cozy! What a clever idea those thumb holes are. Happiest of Birthdays to you, fellow Pisces! (We are two years and one day apart...I'm 56 on Monday.) Stick an candle in that lemon tart and keep one for yourself. ;-)

Happy birthday. Once work is done, you will play different woulda, coulda, shouldas. I had a French tutoring student who came twice in September and didn't show up for next session (no phone call) ask to have the session that she was owed next week just before I go to Paris. I shoulda not said yes when i wanted to say no.
I love that soft green and you will be cozy on your walks. Salut.

Happy Birthday! I found turning 58 a little harder than I expected, actually 60 was easier! A lot of the couldas, shouldas, wouldas spinning around in my head at that time. Great quote, wish I'd heard it then. I think it's OK to give yourself permission to feel those things, along with all the gratitude as well. I love to walk as well, not only for the exercise, but for me it's the easiest way to meditate and make some sense of my thoughts. Enjoy your walks in your new cozy jacket!

Last night I spent conscious time talking myself through all the stuff left in my brain after the week. Clearing out space for a quiet weekend. Sounds like you are in the same place. Have a nice walk. Or two:).

Happy Birthday Hostess, enjoy your day and many more in the future.

I'm a fellow Pisces too, a few years ahead of you. Thinking about the big decisions around retiring (or not!). Trying not to look back at the 'coulda, shoulda and other things I cannot change.

I'd love to share a desert with you and Duchesse, lemon is a favourite of mine too!

Happy birthday Hostess! My first comment here and I love visiting your blog for its sense of peace and the lovely images of your home and garden.

Love that fleece - that colour is great and those little touches really make the difference.

I'm also trying to let go of things in my head - I'm starting maternity leave soon so it's a new chapter in my life. Very exciting, but also slightly overwhelming! I think in these situations it's important to focus on the important and simple things, such as family and good friends, the changing seasons...we have crocuses out here as well, and a trip to visit the Backs in Cambridge where the purple crocuses bloom in abundance is a must each year.

Good luck on moving towards the next stage in your life - I know that you will carry on with your customary grace and style.
