Tonic for a tired soul....

Life has been rather fraught with challenges and work has been busy
so last night I gave in to fatigue and retired early with two of my favourite things...

I have not indulged in Chocolate for months
but I have not forgotten it's healing properties.

I love to pop a square on my tongue and let it gently melt...

I am just eating up this delicious read.
It's about Ernest Hemingway and his first wife Hadley
and the days that they lived in Paris
hobnobbing with Gertude Stein, F. Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald,
and assorted other characters of note.

If you are like me you'll want to read this while you are cooking supper!

I slept rather late so I apologize that this post is a bit short on words
but considering the high calorie content I hope that you will not mind.

I hope that your weekend is of to a great start.
T.G.I.F.

I am taking my lovely daughter for lunch
to be followed by an afternoon of pampering at the Spa.
What's on your agenda?

Don't forget the giveaway from two posts back...I am drawing a name next Monday!

Another early bird here! I`ve taken the day off and will head behind the Tweed Curtain with a weekend guest from the mainland - a little retail dreaming, a little poking around in Good Things, a little tea at my favorite tea room - a perfect fall day!
Enjoy your spa day with your daughter - what a lovely thing to do.

I've got that exact chocolate for tomorrow night! I always treat myself to a few squares of dark chocolate on Saturday nights.
I'm taking lovely mum for lunch so we're pretty much mirror images of each other this weekend.
I hope the challenges blow over soon for you.

Dark chocolate and a good read can cure just about anything ;)

Chocolate works wonders :). I hope an afternoon at the spa after lunch with your daughter will be restorative.

That book sounds really tempting.

We're taking my daughter to dinner tonight in San Francisco to celebrate her engagement, going to a fashion show at my sweetie Martin's college tomorrow, singing Sunday morning and going to a cocktail party Sun night. A lot going on.

Have a lovely weekend!

I hope you are well rested today, Hostess! I know the feeling.

It is true though, 1 square of dark chocolate is just the right amount. I like the chilli flavour too.

Take care

I love Lindt chocolates, but the chili one is a bit much for me.

A little piece or two of chocolate never hurts. I do hope those challenges cease to be so challenging Hostess.
A day at the spa sounds divine, we are working around the house with a delivery of some furniture today so that is exciting.

I could do with some good chocolate....and I DID read The Paris Wife a few weeks ago. I really liked it.

We visited the nearby County Extension Garden this afternoon - wanting to mark the first day of autumn with a memorable experience. We weren't disappointed...

I agree Hostess, this week was particularly grueling for some reason. Hopefully Jackie Kennedy's voice can calm things down! lol

Enjoy your weekend!

Dark chocolate. Suddenly I´d wish to have a piece of it right now.
