Black active wear Performance pants and Polartec jacket in glacier blue.
Mr. HB commented that it was "a younger look"...
just how much younger is that?
(it was a compliment that I enjoyed)
Does wearing active wear = youth?
I like the fit and quality of the Polartec jacket so much that I ordered another one in chartreuse...
no one can accuse me of buying only black and grey these days...
it seems that it's all about colour.
We are planning a trip to Seattle soon...
Thank you Mr. HB!
all of the above!
SERIOUSLY?
you do know how to spoil a gal.
I walked
after breakfast
in the warm sunshine.
~ yogurt ~ berries ~ nuts ~
probiotic of course.....
I have introduced a Greens + shake by Sam Gracie into my mornings
it's an award winning product that has given me a much needed boost in energy after that boring bout with pneumonia.
there were some gorgeous blooms
they look vibrant against the blue skies
the view from the beach
Lots of folks had the same idea and I met quite a few smiling happy people on my walk.
I usually travel on the same familiar walking route...
Along the ocean front and then along a curving road of waterfront homes before snaking back and looping up to the seafront again.
Walking is so meditative...a sublime time to be mindful.
I do not walk with an IPod
I think it is important to make time to just listen to the steady beat of the heart
allow thoughts to bubble up and be recognized.
Ideas and solutions to problems flow freely in the silence.
Decisions can be made when one is tuned in and focused and this time is perfect to mull things over.
Besides there is gorgeous scenery to soak in and savour.
Watching the Real Housewives of Vancouver is quite an eye opener.
The ladies have embraced youth and are having fillers injected into their faces
seriously some of their lips look a bit too puffy for my taste.
Do any of you watch the Real Housewives?
I think it's trash TV but I watch it anyway...
perhaps it's so far from my reality that it fascinates me.
“For Attractive lips, speak words of kindness.
For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people.
For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry.
For beautiful hair, let a child run their fingers through it once a day.
For poise, walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone.
People, more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed. Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you will find one at the end of each of your arms.
As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands, one for helping yourself and the other for helping others.”
~ Sam Levenson ~
“There is a fountain of youth: it is your mind, your talents, the creativity you bring to your life and the lives of people you love. When you learn to tap this source, you will truly have defeated age.”
~ Sophia Loren ~
It's almost the weekend how has your week been so far?
Take care and Be Well

Love your hair! And for the thoughts, thank you...
My walks are a daily delight. They balance out almost everything.
I really like that polar blue on you. The walk is a great way to start the day. Active wear does not equate youthfulness but activity does. I am going to try a healthier breakfast because I find that I am often lacking in energy.
The blue is very pretty on you, hostess! I agree about walking without phone, headphones or music. I like to hear the ambient sounds and have few distractions.
Thanks for the words of inspiration and the sharing your walk on the beach and vivid rhododendron blooms today. I welcome any signs of spring since it has been freeeeezing the last few days.
Walking at the ocean is so regenerative and spiritual for me. How wonderful that you are able to greet it every day on your walks!
Oh, you are going to have a good time!
Walking is a great way to untangle puzzles in the mind, and be in tune with the world around us. The blue jacket is just lovely on you.
You are so lucky to be able to walk near the ocean Hostess. I'm going to try that Greens Plus - we used to give our youngest the one for children when he was younger and only ate pasta with butter!
I have been watching RHOV - at first I enjoyed seeing glimpses of Vancouver (I've never been) and seeing the clothes and the lifestyle. However, the constant bullying is upsetting me and I think I'll take a break.
Listening to the ocean and nature on walks is very cleansing. There is so much noise pollution forced on us as it is (i.e. music blasting from the car next to us, in shops, and so on). If the volume was just turned down a bit it would make a big difference. The H&M store my daughter likes to shop at has their music on so loud that I have to shout to her when we're talking - and were standing right next each other! Do you think the volume is standardized in these chain shops? I wonder. Boy, I sound old! I love the Sam Levenson quote.
It sounds like you are still employed. Do you walk very early in the morning before you leave for work? I admire that dedication, if you do. Loved your post. As always, very uplifting.

If active wear keeps you active, I'm all for a wardrobe of it!
I know everyone puts down yoga pants and activewear for everyday wear, but I rather like it. In LA it's a very usual thing to see. Comfortable and youthful looking, and for me there's always the bonus, that if I'm in it, I'm going to walk or exercise for sure. The blue is beautiful on you, and I know I'm going to love the chartreuse.
Sometimes I walk with an Ipod, and sometimes I want quiet - it sort of depends on where the location is. But, if I can get away from car noise, then quiet it is. What a thoughtful card from your husband.
Thank you Swissy for stopping by!
The Greens + are loaded with goodness if your energy is waning. You must be getting very excited about your trip to Paris!
Thank you!
Your photos show a very lush palm tree lined street and I do wonder what it would be like to walk in the warmth of sunny California right about now.
Oh I do hope that you get some warmer weather soon.
Hostess, it's probably warm compared to your latitude, but it's not "warm" warm. ;-)
Mr. HB is not much of a shopper so I'll probably just carve out a few hours when he has his nose in his book...unless it involves jewelry and then he will be right there to offer his opinion.
I love that image of you with those cherry blossoms!
Vancouver is a beautiful city...
Please let me know what you think of the Greens +
I think the show must be scripted because those women do seem far too nasty to be real.
I've never been to an H&M store but I do know that many of the trendy shops have a loud ambiance...
If memory serves me Aritzia on Robson in Vancouver had a DJ spinning vinyl when I went with my daughter.
I don't think you sound old, you just know what you like.
I am still working!
I do not walk every morning, (wish I could manage that) it's mostly after work and on weekends.
I think it might just work!
BTW that pottery post of yours this morning has me rethinking colour ~
The more I wear Yoga pants the more I want to wear them.
Honestly I feel more energetic in Yoga pants and my hoodie and the fact that you echo this is music to my ears!
LA style must be quite eclectic...
I'd love to sit in a cafe sip a coffee and just take it all in...
maybe we could meet up someday, I'd love to visit your studio.
I walked this morning too, but on the Oak Bay end of that coastal route. Like you, I walk without IPod because I like the sound of the water and the gulls and rigging clanging against the masts - I'd hate to have that all drowned out by canned sound!
I love your new outdoor look and it's making me think that it might be time to put away the drab winter gear.
Such a lucky duck to be going to Seattle for a shopping spree :)
Your husband is right you do look "youthful" in your pretty outfit.
I too have been watching the RHOV not a fan of it because their seems
to be so much drama and everyone likes to gossip about everyone :(
I have been watching King of the Nerds...it's not bad, it's kind of like
having a group of "Sheldon Cooper" (from the Big Bang Theory) living together and completing tasks.
Hopefully the weather will be sunny again if you plan to go for another walk.
Never having worn yoga pants, they always appear 'baggy' and sloppy as if the wearer does not care about their appearance (which does not apply to you).Maybe different types of material make a difference to the look?Ida
I think you do well in pastels! And we all do well in walking gear:).
Like you, I enjoy walking by myself without an i-pod. I let my thoughts wander and almost always something good comes of it. A solution to a problem, an inspiration for something new or fun to do, or an idea for a blog post. I love going over things in my mind and letting it all flow freely. And being outside in the fresh air and looking at nature always takes me to a happy place. Have a great weekend!
I must confess, that I have never owned real sportswear, like yoga pants, fleece jackets, etc..
But I do own a pair of knee-length fleece stockings to be worn inside my stable boots, and I am so surprised how comfortable they have turned out to be, even in very low temperatures.
You are on the right road towards healthy life!
What a darling gift certificate from your husband. I love it!
Great color on you, Leslie.
Will have to try the "active wear" but like many around here we're in jeans and sweatshirts and boots. Active wear sounds like a type of clothing we'd enjoy after washing up (barns/horses smell good until you get out amongst the general public). Will go to LE and take a peek.
You look terrific and really, if you buy only 1-2 things that have more color, that's great too. You do look awesome from the photos I've seen.
Had no idea there was another of those "housewives" series. We've got several here and whilst trashy, on some level it's fun just to zone. However, like someone else said - there's too much drama (but it would probably be boring w/o it and who would watch if they had normal lives). Thought I'd mention this, no criticism meant, but the word is "anyway" - there's no plural.
Oh thank you for noticing that typo I know that is incorrect. Spelling mistakes really bother me so I do apologize. Happy shopping!
Could you write alittle about the "Green shake by Sam Gracie?" I just puchased a blender to make Green shakes and now I need some helathy recipes.
Thanks
Sandra the shake I make is easy as pie...use the Greens+ powder add water or juice as a base and drink. I use a covered jar and shake by hand. Blended shakes are frequently made using whey powder and fruit. I did this when I was on The Fat Flush diet years ago and had one every morning for breakfast. Enjoy your new blender!
I think you should get to the dermatologist to have that mole taken off. Not trying to be rude.
I am guilty for watching some of the housewives shows and I fuss while watching on how phony and trashy they are. Sometimes I questions my reason for watching and the only thing I have come up with is they make me realize how sane and blessed my life actually is. The injections, the nips and tucks, the dyed and fried hair and weaves, starving to stay thin, and selfish actions, leaves most of them looking like Cruella Deville. The sad thing is that they really think they look fabulous and have class! The shows are great entertainment to show beautiful grown women what NOT to do as we age...and they give us something to laugh at since most movies cater to youth.
