Hi Ho Silver.....

I am closer and closer to being ready for the family festivities and the feasting...
just a few last minute details and this is not a daunting task...
I have my radio on,
Twinkle with sponge
and a sink full of soapy hot water.

Bring on the tarnished ones...

it looks like a jumble...
but there is some order.

look a bit like soldiers standing at attention

Silvery Lace is the pattern
it was a wedding gift from Mr. HB's parents
for our wedding in 1974
from Birks a Canadian retailer
of jewelry, crystal and silverware.

look at the detail
this spoon is one of a few interlopers that have found their way into the silver chest
gifts from Gran Gran mostly

she gave us these rings too.

Hi Ho Silver
I'm off and away
to the domestic corner of the Bungalow kitchen.

I wish I had some elves to help me...

my cleaning gal is holidaying in Mexico
she is sipping Tequila...
celebrating
Cheers!

I hope that your holidays are shaping up nicely
I am way overtime for bed.....
sweet dreams!

Please take this Christmas easy. I feel exhausted by just reading what all you have already done and what all you are planning yet to do.
What an amount of silverware!

Have you tried dipping them in a sink of warm water with tin foil on the bottom and baking soda sprinkled in? I have heard that is the best way to clean silver...super fast too!

Cleaning silver isn't much fun but it is very satisfying. You have a beautiful pattern. Merry Christmas.

Your silver is beautiful. I love the pattern. And monogrammed napkin rings, gorgeous.

So pretty. And I've got some Twinkle under the sink myself:).

Anne- Marie- I wear gloves for this messy job or my hands end up a mess!

Nancy's Notes- Welcome! and thank you for your comment.

metscan- As I have prepared ahead things will be less work...however I am the cook and Hostess for the Christmas feast so I have some duties still to perform...but I embrace all the fuss with a huge heart...it makes me tick!

Suburban Princess- I have heard of that method...I am a Twinkle gal from way back...and you know what they say about old habits...

La Vie Quotidienne- I feel that I did accomplish something worthwhile!
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you and yours.

Annie- Thank you...it's a gift that has had lots of use and probably one that we would not have budgeted for back when Mr. HB was in school!

LPC- It's a great product and no one is paying me to say that !

I'm going to have to go find myself some Twinkle gel! Beautiful silverware, Hostess. Such a beautiful accompaniment to the season.

Rebecca- I find mine at the grocery store...it comes in a box with a sponge and blue paste...very easy to use...remember to protect your hands by wearing gloves :)
