Post 1000 ~ GOLD and a GIVEAWAY!

Well I think we might be in for a wee celebration...on two counts.
This happens to be post number 1000 and I am a bit taken aback that it seems just so impossible.
I still remember the trepidation I felt when I finished my first blog post and pressed "publish."
Here's the other cause for celebration....it's a key and it's GOLD!

The Golden Key which signifies that I am a Lifetime Member of Weight Watchers.

The key chain and the awards I have collected on this weight loss journey.
It's been quite the ride!

I was a little uncertain about my weigh in this week because we were out for a birthday celebration at a local Italian establishment that caters dinners.
13 people were gathered at the table for the multiple course meal and the wine flowed.

We started with a tomato herb and garlic bruschetta.

Prawns in white wine, butter and garlic.

Pasta with a sprinkle of Parmesan and basil leaves.
I only ate about a third of this as it is loaded in WW  points!

Sauteed peppers, zucchini, butter browned chicken breasts with a wine reduction.
I ate all the veggies and about half of the chicken breast.

Followed by a palate cleanser of simple salad with a vinaigrette dressing.

Dessert was a delicious chocolate mousse cake.
I had a small piece and ate every morsel!

"Desire is the key to motivation, but it's determination and commitment to an unrelenting pursuit of your goal - a commitment to excellence - that will enable you to attain the success you seek."

~ Mario Andretti ~

With all this celebrating going on here in The Humble Bungalow...I think a giveaway is in order.
I'd like to take this opportunity to honour the people who follow my blog.

To enter you must be a follower and you need to leave me a comment.
I am specifically looking for feedback on which post topics you most enjoy and if there is anything that you'd like me to write about, something perhaps that I have not covered in these 1000 posts.
I am not making any promises I am merely posing the question!

The giveaway consists of...

A wonderful novel...

Silk Road bath salts in Bliss....my personal favourite blend!
Silk Road Velvet Potion chocolate tea which I sampled around Valentine's Day and think is quite lovely.

Please enter before midnight PST on Monday March 24th, 2014.
I'll choose one entry based on the comment and will post the name of the recipient sometime the following week.
Please keep reading The Humble Bungalow Blog and check back to see if you are the winner.
You'll need to email me your mailing address so I can send the parcel on it's way!

Bonne Chance!

Hostess, Apparently, I already follow you by email, but don't get notifications!

I love reading your blog and especially enjoy your posts about rebuilding your wardrobe.

Congratulations on your golden key and on your 1000 post. I finally went public with my blog, posting it on Facebook page, and you're right, I feel really nervous about it. Love the little gift package you have put together. I am originally from the coast but moved to the interior a year ago. Silk Road Teas always make me feel close to home.
As for blog content, I have to admit the I really enjoy the posts where you incorporate your thrifty finds into your wardrobe. I also really enjoy the day to day posts where you show little vintage items and décor around your house. Ultimately, I follow your blog because I enjoy the content as it is- don't change a thing!

Congratulations on 1000 posts and your success with Weight Watchers! I have been following you, and I like esp. posts that have to do with being women of "a certain age", outfits, makeup, skin care, etc., as well as attitudes and feelings about getting older. I'm also looking forward to reading about you getting ready for Paris, as it is something I hope to do!

Skip me on the giveaway entry (I do love your posts, but I've read the book and own the tea!), but a HUGE congrats from me to you, L, on your Lifetime achievement. I am so proud of you for doing this for yourself. You look beautiful and I can tell that this healthier path you are on can only do good things for you. Well done, my friend!

CONGRATULATIONS, L, on achieving your desired Weight Watchers Goal, and entering your 1000 Blog Entery!! Well worth celebrating, for sure :)
I'm enjoying reading your blog entries, but as a new comer, I've not read near 1000! I'd have to say that some of my favourites are when you speak from your heart about every day life, from your thrift clothes finds, to hearing about what your 2 pussy cats have done that day. I am really looking forward to hearing all about your preparations for Paris, as it is on our bucket list too :)
Once again, Congrats on both achievements!!

I've read the book so don't enter me into the contest. But congratulations on achieving your gold key status. You've done so well. Has it helped you to put your weight loss goal out on your blog? I find that saying I'm going to do something, to someone else (or many someones) often motivates me to complete a task.
I enjoy your wardrobe posts, your discussions on aging gracefully and your recipes.

I follow your blog through bloglovin and look forward to your posts. I especially like the posts about what you wear - I have struggled with finding a style - especially as I have gotten older.

Congratulations of your reaching your WW goal. May it always be obtainable. Alas I have slipped off the WW bandwagon and need to get back on. I always love it when you post OOTD. Please continue to do so. The velvet potion chocolate tea sounds interesting. I have not tried any of the Silk brand teas. My favourite is from The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf and it is there Tropical Passion tea. Happy Sipping!

Sorry, I removed the previous comment due to typo's.

1000 posts; good for you! Congratulations on your WW Golden Key!

In blogging, I believe authenticity is the "golden key" that opens the door, invites readers in, welcomes their comments, and encourages them to stay.
