A Plethora of Pink...and the winner of the giveaway!

I am taking you along with me on my walk today.
The sun is shining and warmth is in the air...
we are meandering slowly through the neighbourhood with no destination in mind.
There is no need to hurry so we are going to stop frequently and look up at the trees and the blue sky.

Pink is the colour lining our local streets...plums and cherry trees are dressed in their lacy finery.
When the wind blows their wee pink petals rain down like confetti.

I've been playing around with IPhoto and am thinking that the black and white images would be fun to enlarge print and frame for wall art.

Moss Street runs from Fort Street to Dallas Road.
The boulevards are home to pink plums and cherry blossom trees...
two different types of trees are planted and every other one blooms a few weeks apart.
Blooming in succession for a fabulous display.

Frothy and fluffy
pretty even
in black and white.

The trees have a very soft scent that wafts in the air when we stand underneath.

Sepia looks interesting too...

and the blooming has just started!

there are lots of buds yet to pop.

These make lovely indoor floral displays...

We have finished our walk.
It is time to draw the name of the commenter who will receive the book, tea and bath salts.

I said I would draw the name at midnight tonight but I am too tired to stay up that late so I changed the rules.
I guess since I made the rules I have the authority to change them.
The new time is 9 o'clock.
Drum roll please...
The giveaway goes to...Jeannine from Wisconsin
please email me your mailing address information so that I can send the package in the post.

Thank you to all the readers who left comments.
I love to hear from you, your comments and emails are important to me.

Do you remember "the white way of delight" in Green Gables? You have your own "pink way of delight". Delight of a different kind lines my Paris street:Claudalie, Diptique, Jo Malone and Penhaligon. A street of scent and beautiful windows! A walker's paradise!

I love cherry blossom, quite a few are out here too but mine is a late flowering one so it's a few months away yet. The black and white images would make great prints.

Jealous!!! It's 3 F here with snow on the ground...

Pamela, above, must live near me. The high is supposed to be 30 F today, no blossoms, just snow. But the sunshine is brilliant and the promise of a 50 F Saturday gives me hope. Keep your pictures coming. They sustain some of us through this prolonged winter.

Congratulations to Jeannine! And yes, isn't it a treat to see the explosion of blossoms about us? Although I'm fretting a bit to see how quickly the weeds sprout right alongside -- my garden is demanding some attention, and soon!

Hostess, I keep being surprised by your temperate climate, since I think you live north of me (by latitude) here in Michigan. But you have cherry blossoms, and even talked of a hummingbird earlier this winter I think. It's still snowing here! Maybe it has something to do with ocean currents there? Anyway, it all looks lovely and warm and spring-y.

I love cherry blossoms but I think it's going to be awhile before we see any here in Brooklyn. I am also looking forward to seeing the peonies in bloom at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, one of my favorite places in the world. It is still so cold here and it snowed last night! XO, Jill

The blossoms are so pretty. They do look artistic in black and white, but the pink is so nice. Spring blossoms are everywhere here and the smell is fabulous. Congratulations to Jeannine!! You'll love that tea!! xoJennifer
