Almond Joy!

I keep coming back to the amazing products made by L'Occitane in Provence France.

This almond milk moisturizes and hydrates my skin like nothing else I have ever used...
plus it smells delicious and a little goes a long way.

Thinking of almonds
I decided to expand my experience and sample the shower gel and hand lotion.
I am pleased to say that they are worth every penny...

I received a small travel size of almond milk in the pack
which I will come in handy when I meet my girlfriend up island for a Spa treat and a getaway at The Kingfisher.

My first impression of Retirement is that it is Blissful!
I have savoured playing with our gorgeous little Miss Isla.
She is so much fun!
Grammy's in love with her big time...and I think that Grampa is a just a wee bit of envious.

She painted him a picture so that he could get in on the action.
Thank you Isla Grampa loved it.

It's a warm and sunny day and I plan to sit and sip my afternoon tea outside
and browse and savour the latest Country Living magazine.

It's too hot to walk my route just yet...
will need to cool down a tad before I pound the pavement.
What a luxury to have the time to choose when to walk.

I took my time when I was in at the Avenue book sellers...
I browsed the shelves and found a new book to add to my ever growing pile of books beside my bed.

Time to do things at a relaxed pace is what I think I will enjoy the most about retirement.
But it is early days yet...

Thank you all for popping by and visiting my Humble Blog.

Isn't retirement just lovely? It's been two years and I am thankful every day that I earned these happy times. I almost feel guilty about how joyful the time has been.

I've been catching up on some books by Dorothea Benton Frank. They take place mostly in the Low Country of South Carolina, a place that I love. Her books are a wonderful summer read- just finished "Plantation" and now the sequel, "Low Country Summer."

Wishing you continued happiness in your new lifestyle. The luxury of time is priceless.

I, too, love L'Occitane product. The lavender hand cream I keep everywhere, in the car and my desk

Have a great weekend

I have only tried the L'Occitane rose hand cream and I love it. Keeps my hands soft and smells wonderful.
Glad to hear that the early days of retirement are going well. Enjoy your British Country Living - I picked up the same issue just a few days ago.

I am using l'Occitane's "Roses 4 reines" bath gel and body lotion at the moment and the texture and perfume of both products are an absolute pleasure to enjoy in the morning !

It´s good to read that you are having a nice time with some plans ( it needen´t be anything big ) for the coming days.
I usually don´t experiment with new creams, lotions - I guess I´m satisfied with what I have been using - Dove body cream, lol.
Have a nice Sunday !
Over here, it´s +25° C, and the humidity is c. 40%, which adds up to a perfect climate.

Catching up on your blog, I was touched to see that your first day of retirement was the same as mine. Having now gotten through my first full week of retirement (after 35 years with the same company), I am so struck by the exquisite pleasure of having time to think, to read, to ponder what I want to do now, to "just be." Looking forward to continuing to read about your experiences on a similar trajectory.

I love L'Occitane products. I can't get enough of their Lavender. I did try the Almond body oil and the smell was divine. I'm so happy you're enjoying retirement. And such beautiful weather we're having!!
Kingfisher will be a lovely treat for you and your friend. If you have time, perhaps we could meet for tea on your ride up or back. I haven't gotten down your way yet!
Have a luxurious afternoon.

I like L'Occitane products too, I need to get some more of their Shea butter hand cream. Will you do book reviews of what you are loving right now? I have a gigantic to-read pile next to my bed but I love to hear about books people liked so I can add another! XO, Jill

If you put some on underneath your garden gloves before going out into the garden it is like a spa treatment!

Mr. HB took this painting to his office...Isla gave it to him!
I hope she will paint another one for me :-)

Sounds like you are keeping cool...
the pollen count is up here too. Lots of sneezing is involved.

I will add book reviews to my list of things to do Jill and thank you for the suggestion.

Hostess I love that you're loving your retirement so much but am amused that you're soo feeling it at this stage. Didn't you work in a school and so wouldn't you always have had this kind of freedom at this time of year? Would have thought sense of retirement wouldn't kick in until school restarts and your former colleagues are back at the grindstone. Delighted for you and I'm sure you'll have no problem filling your time. Think you should really consider a trip to Europe. You've got to see Paris/ France and since you got that bag maybe London too!!!!!!

I have been looking forward to this experience so much that I am very aware of what it means despite the fact I am usually off at this time of year. It will be interesting to see how I feel come September when school reconvenes.

I had not realized that you were retiring! i'm a month into mine now, but i'm having trouble getting rid of a felt need to be productive. I need to learn how to relax!

I have a pile of books on the bedside table too - it doesn't seem to get any smaller!
