Textures in fashion...

Wardrobe basics can be more fun when a little twist comes into play...
I like to add a variety of textures.

as seen here in the Burberry jacket

or a scarf and pearls

a hand knit sweater

a black sequin Tee

Jones of NY knit sweater

 shiny silver woven belt

thick sturdy Dolce and Gabbana belt

and for your best fashion accessory
your face
superior rose oil by Dr. Hauschka

I use and love this

the fragrance of roses
and
 the dewy emollience
are such a happy mix.

the sun looks good on this carpet
but it is your skins worst enemy
take care to protect your skin
and stay out of the sun for prolonged periods

A designer knows he has achieved perfection, not when there is nothing left to add, but when there is nothing left to take away.

What beautiful photos. I can almost feel those pearls in my hands.

That hand knit sweater is divine. Did you make it, or someone you know? I would love to find a sweater like that.

I just love everything you have here--and the mix of both low and high end. Beauty/texture is available everywhere.

Gorgeous post, and I am loving the grey, sets off the photos so well. Is the Dr H for the body or face or both? This winter is drying me out!!

Dear Hostess of the Humble Bungalow,
thank you, wonderful post! And that a thing that is not perfect can be very beautiful is so true!

If I thought for even a moment that I could fit into that hand knit sweater, I'd make you an offer you couldn't refuse!

♥ing that final thought, too - about a thing that is not perfect can be very beautiful...

I love the quote, 'A beautiful thing is never perfect'.

So true and so important to remember with respect to living creatures.

Hostess I would love to drop by the bungalow to rummage through your wardrobe/closet because I love all your clothes, shoes and jewellery. Lucky for you I live far away! Oh and a play with Pepper would be nice too.
The HB posts are a bright spot in my day.
xx
ps. The hand knit cardi is to die for.

Adrienne, La Vie Quotidienne, mette-I did not knit the sweater and I do not know who made it as I purchased it at a local shop.

Frugal scholar, Jeanne, Deja Pseu, the gardener's cottage
I am a bit overwhelmed by the positive comments :)

LPC- I haven't tried their eye cream...but if you love it...I try it.

Tabitha- I love David Austen roses...Abraham Darby and Jude the Obscure are my top two faves.

Belinda @ Wild Acre- I use it for my face, legs, feet, decollette, a little goes a long way.

Britta- SSG- I embrace imperfections...they seem to be so much more interesting and honest.

Anne Marie- My closet is very small...so the rummage would be very quick! Pepper and I would welcome you warmly.

Rebecca- It is about a size 12...now about that offer...!

What is that scarf with the pearls? Such an interesting texture.

"A beautiful thing is never perfect" Yes, and too much perfection can be boring, as in all the identical young starlets.

Love this collage of eye candy. Gorgeous. I feel like a Magpie as I drool over each image.xo

materfamilias- You know what they say..variety is the spice of life!

Semi Expat- The word weekend conjures up an image of relaxation...and I am all for that.

ida- Thank you ida...I have some other loosely woven garments I might do another post using them.

Northmoon- The scarf is a loose weave of hemp fibres...
I like Maggie Gyllenhaal she has a great look going...however, she might not be considered a young starlet.

La Belette Rouge- I feel pleased that you have enjoyed the images :)
