Quicker pasta and the menu for New Years Eve.

There's a happy Hostess in the Humble Bungalow these days!
Pasta making just got so much easier...

My first ever Kitchen Aid attachment,
it works like a dream.

It only takes minutes to run it through
and it is so easy
I cannot believe how fast this happens and with very little effort on my part.

I use the food processor to make this pasta
Adrienne from La Vie Quotidienne
gave me the recipe and I love how easy it is to make.

I made a simple sauce
saute onions, garlic and mushrooms in olive oil
add a can of DOP Italian tomatoes
some red pepper flakes, salt and pepper
and simmer for about an hour to allow the flavours to meld.

Cook pasta in boiling water until al dente
fresh pasta takes less time
so check often

sprinkle some parmesan cheese on top
enjoy!

I am getting ready for New Year's Eve dinner
several couples are celebrating at the table
on the menu...

antipasto assortment
(my BFF calls this a "picky plate")
Caesar Salad
fresh Dungeness crab
served in the shell ready to pick
with
drawn butter, lemons, and ginger mayo dip

dessert
(which my BFF is making)

I haven't thought of any resolutions to make just yet...
self improvement is one that I often consider
giving back to the community is another
and I think there's a new hairstyle in my future
and possibly redesigning
 The Humble Bungalow Blog...

What resolutions are you making?

Cheers!

I hope that you will pop back in 2012.

Best wishes for a Healthy and Happy New Year!

Your New Year's menu sounds absolutely scrumptious! We're doing just chili and finger foods, (champagne of course) and will have a quiet celebration with BIL and SIL, and maybe a couple of friends.

I have the lose weight new years resolution at the top of the list. Then to declutter more, next to save money by being more careful with the shopping business, so I can plan another OS trip! And finally to post more often, just one a day even just with a single photo! Hard for me to simplify but I think I can do it now that I have the phone and iPad all worked out.
Happy new years!
I'll be getting there before you down here in OZ! I'll be on Sydney Harbour at the naval base so will get fabulous piccies.

I've never bought an attachment for my mixer and I've had it over twenty years. I think your post just inspired me! So delicious looking.

So you are throwing another party at New Year´s, wow!!
I do think about " good resolutions for the coming new year " every year, but somehow, I am not able to go through them all.
Like you, maybe some minor updating on my blog????????. A promise to be more frugal ; ), a better mother and a better wife!!!!!!!!!!!!
The frugality part is going to be difficult though; I am just so impulsive. I must concentrate on thinking first and acting second..

I am seriously jealous of your pasta... the 'free gift' attachment I got with my mixer was a meat grinder...a pasta maker is so much better! Looking forward to more of the Humble Bungalow in 2012!

I'm almost tempted to run out and buy a pasta attachment...like Sue, I got the meat grinder...which I have no idea where it is. Happy new Year....your menu sounds perfect!

Dear Hostess, it all sounds quite delicious, I would love to be a guest at your table.
My New Year resolution is to try to maintain a regular pattern of exercise. Nothing excessive, just a bit of daily stretching to try and achieve a more supple body.
Wishing you a happy and healthy 2012.

Happy New Year!

I'm impressed by your pasta making. Your dinner looks divine!

LOL I had the same champagne this New Year's Eve, mainly because I just had my Christofle, Perrier Jouet silver tray replated; after being scratched beyond buffing, by a housekeeper!
