Sea Scallops

While we were on our boating holiday in the Gulf Islands we invited our lovely daughter to join us for a weekend.
Seafood reigns supreme onboard our Chris Craft and not to disappoint we kept the theme going and bought some sea scallops. There are many ways to serve these tasty morsels and I have tried numerous recipes and as we sat chatting about how we should prepare these...lovely daughter grabbed her IPhone.
(which is never far from her reach!)
She googled scallop recipes...she found this great one and while my BFF (whose boat was tied up next to ours) and I sipped our cocktails she prepped this delicious appetizer...
did I mention that I have a very clever daughter?

It could be a main course if served with a salad.

Don't they look delicious?
cooked and prepared in our teeny tiny galley
served on the aft deck in the sunshine.

If you'd like to make this dish
go here for the recipe.

Bon appetit!

There is nothing like fresh scallops, especially while enjoying a day at the beach or on the water. Hope you enjoyed your time with your daughter!

Could life possibly get any better? On holiday, BFF next door, clever daughter visiting, and fantastic meal. I don't think so.

I love sea scallops and these look absolutely divine all plated up to perfection. I can just imagine how wonderful they tasted with your daughter on board and your BFF right next to you. Sounds lovely indeed.

Drooling.

I love scallops. My favorite is the most simple preparation: sauteed in butter with a little sea salt and freshly cracked pepper. A plateful of those and a glass (or two) of rose - how luxurious.

It's wonderful having a daughter that likes to cook. I am always grateful when my girl offers to prepare dinner.
Wish I had something so tasty to eat right now for lunch.
xx

My (step)daughter likes to cook too. She made my FIL some scallops a few weeks ago and he loved them - and he is a hard one to please. She saved me a couple and I actually liked them too and I am not a fan of scallops.
I will tell Tori about the recipe you found - I just know she'll want to try it. xo

I have a vivid memory of eating Digby scallops in Digby, Nova scotia -- the best I've ever had. This recipe looks as if it would do those justice -- I'm a big fan of pea shoots as well! Bravo to your daughter, and how clever of you to bring an extra cook along!
