Blogger's Tea...OOTD

A few local bloggers met for tea this weekend at The White Heather Tea Room in Oak Bay.
It's been a month in the works so we have had lots of time to get excited about our meet up.
Our meet up was a highlight for me, a perfect start to the month.

Sipping tea is so soothing. I find that it has such a restorative effect.
There have been many chaotic and dramatic moments in my life where things have gone awry and the first thing I reach for is the kettle and the teapot. They are truly my life preservers.

When we have visitors stop by The Humble Bungalow I usually head to the kitchen to put the kettle on.

Taking tea seems like a natural place to start when meeting friends...
it sets a relaxed tone and encourages reflection and conversation.
Do you know anyone who doesn't love a Tea Party?

The White Heather Tea Room has a variety of pretty patterned bone china teacups.
I love how they set their tables with linen cloths and napkins.
It's a popular spot for a cuppa so you will need a reservation.

There are lots of different tasty tea blends on the menu.
Three "afternoon set teas" are available.
The Grand Muckle Tea which is vast,
The Not So Wee Tea which is large and The Wee Tea which was perfect for us!
(three of us are on Weight Watchers!)

a butter tart wedge, lemon poppy seed cake and a piece of shortbread.

We spent a leisurely couple of hours nibbling delicious sandwiches and sweets while drinking our tea.
It was so much fun to get together...I can't wait to do it again.
We had lots to chat about...blogging, grandchildren, fashion, food, family and travel.
You can imagine four women with lots in common that it was hard to get a word in edgewise!
Many pictures were taken, after all we are bloggers and we do love to capture life moments on film.
We all brought cameras!

After tea we walked up to the consignment shop nearby to have a browse...
the shop had lots of lovely things for sale.
One item that really caught my eye was a fabulous vintage Dior full length fur coat for $1700.00!

OOTD
Bellissima ponte knit trousers, white Coldwater Creek tank top,
Betty Barclay long sweater, Amalfi shoes
with my Kate Spade quilted bag.

I opted for Pearls as the ruffles on the sweater did not allow much room for a scarf.

I hope that you will pop over and visit the other bloggers if you don't know them already.
It will be fun to get together again and we hope that a few more  bloggers will join us next time.
If you blog or know of any bloggers in the Victoria or Vancouver Island area that you'd like to introduce please leave me a comment and their link below.

Be Kind and Be Well.

It was fun, wasn't it!? I enjoyed our teatime and conversation. You are so right about the benefits of a restorative pot of tea. The White Heather Tea Room and good company = a wonderful afternoon.

What fun! I love Sheila's hat!

Those teacups are so pretty, I've been looking on eBay for some teacups (each one different), I'd like to start a mini-collection. Glad you had a nice time with the gals!

What fun! I like your long sweater; the ruffles frame your face so nicely.

So wish I could have joined you -- looks like great company in a great venue. Good times!

What a lovely time! So nice to see you again, L, and thank you for arranging this! Awesome to meet and chat with two new-to-me bloggers.

To LR above, check thrift shops! I have bought a comparable English bone China cup and saucer for $5.00.

What a fun meet up . . . I love your new hair cut. It has been a long while since I have visited. Maybe the hair style isn't something new?

Next time mater!
Are there any tea rooms closer to you that we might meet you halfway?

Loved it! Do you fancy a walk sometime soon?

Value Village and Super Chance are two fabulous sources for teacups here in Victoria.

Look at church, garage and rummage sales. Often they are only $2.00 and in perfect condition...please show us what tea cups you find and collect.

Thank you... BTW I popped by your blog for a visit.

No one wants them anymore. Some people are gluing them together and putting them on a metal stick in the garden. I am personally against this. :)

You all look wonderful. I was just showing you off to my husband.

Thank you Lynne, the cut is rather shorter than I usually wear.
A few months ago I had my hairdresser cut off all the coloured to reveal only the natural brown and grey locks. I had felt a bit like a skunk during the growing out phase!

There are crafty people who recycle teacups in a wide variety of forms...I like teacups as a candle holder. I bought a few as Hostess gifts a few years ago and I have kept one for myself. I'd love to make some myself...

I am sure this was so much fun! Nice to see the other bloggers, I know them from comments.

And I agree, love the short hair. Kind of subversive, which is always a plus.

It was fun! Thank you for organizing it. You are so right about tea's restorative benefits. It will be fun to do this again some time.

The Calico Cat is just at the south edge of Nanaimo, but in good weather, you might think the drive worth it for the added benefit of tealeaf readers -- that's been the specialty at this teahouse for many years. . . could be fun, no?

I came by for a visit from Lorrie's blog. How fun to meet for tea. The White Heather Tea Room is on my list of places to visit for tea for sure. Love that you also visited the consignment shop too.

Great to see your Bloggers Tea Party! I seem to be a "Collector" of tea; although I didn't seek out this moniker. My son's grandparents are Chinese, and they have gifted me with some of the finest Chinese teas. I also love Mariage Freres, and Sloane teas; but I tend to be a purist and drink Chinese teas.

Hi, I'm also popping over from Lorrie's blog. The White Heather is my favorite place to go for High Tea (except for the Empress, but I don't get there often for obvious reasons). It sounds like you all had a wonderful time together. BTW your primulas, further up the page, are lovely. I have the same blue and yellow ones on my front step.
