There's something so ethereal about sea foam, aquatic and organic.
What colours speak to you?
It may surprise you to know that I have a small collection of vintage beach floats in sea foam green.
I've always hoped that I would come across one washed up on the beach some day but I have yet to experience the joy of finding one....so I did what many people do. I went shopping on the internet to ebay and I found a few.
Since my original purchase several years ago I have come across a few in the antique malls and the odd vintage shop.
I usually keep them in a first nations basket on the buffet.
To show them at their best I placed them in my sea foam pottery bowl.
I used up the last of my Diptyque candle this week.

this wick is just waiting to be lit this evening
simple and elegant
it's the little things
that make my ordinary life richer
I hope to have a quiet restorative weekend
maybe a sleep in and an afternoon nap
(what a luxury!)

I have the flu
So I am hydrating like mad and reading while resting.

How pretty these are...like lovely beads. I have become quite entranced with scented candles, I love it when the house smell nice. Hope you feel better soon.
So sorry to hear that you're under the weather - and just as the sun has come out. I hope the new candle, perhaps a new magazine or book and (if someone has been to the market!) a little bouquet might be nearby to give comfort.
What a great collection of glass floats. We have a few, my husband's pride and joy being one about a foot high, still wrapped in the macrame'd net -- he found it on Haida Gwaii about 35 years ago, and it has a special place underneath the grand piano where it can be viewed but isn't likely to get knocked.
This is a horrid bug, isn't it! Really hoping to get enough sleep to kick it this weekend. Hope you do as well.
Oh I hope you feel better! I had the flu and it lasted for about a week. It was miserable. But now I am better and so grateful. Relax and try to enjoy you time resting. Have a good Sunday -- Downton should be good. Can't wait to see what happens with Edith!
The flu is absolutely epidemic this year. I did get a flu shot, and have been fine, but so many friends have been hit hard by it. I hope you're at the tail end, and feel better soon. I love the vintage glass floats ~ the make me smell the ocean.

Your floats are so lovely in how they pick up and reflect the light! We're having a busy weekend with family in from out of town, but I'm hoping to find some time to get a flu shot. Feel better soon!
The flu? Oh no! Get well soon. I love those floats. Glass is my favorite thing for house ornaments.
But, but..you have not even recovered from the one you just had! And now the real flu!
I´d suggest you take a l o n g vacation from school, as that seems to be the place where you get these colds on a regular basis!
Over here, it is not too late to get the flu shot, but I have not thought about the matter.

Hubs had the flu last week, as have others from work, so I've been devouring yogurts, oranges and liquids like crazy! So far, so good.
As everyone has said, tuck in and take care. It is a nasty bug. I had a mild version and it was miserable. The beach floats are so delicate, but since I live way inland, I don't know what they are. When we vacation in North Carolina, I keep hoping to come across sea glass, but, as yet, I haven't been fortunate.
Well, I'm not feeling that great either this weekend. Just woke up from a nap, pain in my neck, and now I'm going to do the dishes in a mindful way, thanks to you.

I'm so sorry to hear you have the flu. Treat yourself gently - stay cozy and warm. Lighting a candle in the evening is a delightful treat.
When we first moved to our home 10 years ago we went out to Jordan River and Botanical Beach for the day. While there, at the river, I spotted a very large glass fishing ball. It was as if the ocean and river were saying 'welcome' to me. I have it outside in my garden, since it's about 16 inches in diameter. I'd love to find smaller ones such as you have.
The colours that speak to me are the blues and greys - and I'm fortunate to find so many of them in the local landscapes.
I love that color of glass, too.
My husband and I walked and shopped yesterday. He set our string bag on the floor of the bus!! I picked it up right away. Yikes! lol

I might be getting organic produce delivered to our door. I've done it before. It is fun but sometimes a challenge to match the food to the meal plans while it is still fresh.
I have been drinking Knudsen's ginger echinacea with vitamin C by the bottle!

I have seen those large floats covered in rope and they really make a statement...too lovely to hide away in a cupboard. Under your piano sounds perfect.
I watched it last night and Edith seems to have weathered the storm...cannot say the same for the rest of the family though.

The floats hold up fisherman's nets...often they come loose and wash in with the tide on the shore.
We have oodles of sea glass here but one needs to know where to go to find it.

I'll need to remember to look closely when we go back to Jordan River.
There are many folks in our neighbourhood who get the fresh produce weekly. The fellow that delivers the bins rides a bike with a trailer behind him...it's all very green. I like the idea but would rather select my own produce.
And I get mine early, before the season really hits as it takes about two weeks after the shot for the immunization to work.
We had someone who delivered milk, cheese and coffee by bicycle and trailer. I put out a cooler with blue ice in it and when I came home it would be there. Maybe someone will deliver milk again.
