Falling...for Fall

Sitting on the front porch of The Humble Bungalow
gazing at the garden with a mug of freshly brewed coffee on a cool morning.

Noticing the changes...

Spiders in webs hanging
woven in between the plants
 flowers  fading
sea salty cool air
birdsong.

Gently gently moving toward Fall.

Hydrangeas will fade to a sepia shade
will not be dead headed as they will be homes to pollinators
until next Spring.

Dewdrops decorate and cling to Jude the Obscure.

This stalwart David Austin Rose will continue to bloom well into winter.
Petals falling like snowflakes...

Fall cooking has commenced...

Enjoy!

Dinner

Bouillion based "faux" gravy.

Nom Nom Nom

Fall food.

Hello, hello!
Do enjoy your blog!
The pictures are delightful especially since I live in the desert Southwest. There is no "Fall" in my neighborhood. The temps are still in the triple digits Fahrenheit. Miss the change of seasons!

Thank you for posting during the Covid-19 shut down. I live in Eastern Ontario and enjoy your photos from another part of our country. I only bought a merino tunic length sweater for the colder weather.

My pleasure Susan. Hope you are keeping well. We are enjoying a warm patch of weather which makes it easy to be social safely outdoors.

I do hope you enjoy these crispy spuds!

Triple digits does seem hot to us here in the PNW! We are enjoying sunny warming days around 18 degrees Celsius. Desert gardening must be quite different all that exotic cacti and native plants!
Stay safe CJ

Covid diversions such as blog posts and Instagram have helped me stay sane!!! I remember how beautiful the autumnal shades are in Ontario and Quebec. We saw the gorgeous fall trees in the Gatineau area many years ago! A cozy sweater is a wise purchase!

400 degrees to get the oil then coat the potatoes and roast them at 400 for an hour turning once after 30 minutes.

Apricot might be the word I could use to describe their colour. Soft delicate and so fragrant.

Hello to Jude, the most beautiful of roses. I will have to try your roast potatoes because they look just so tempting. The porch looks very pretty, and I do enjoy the Fall decor, which is not done in Australia. My daughter in Ontario always has her porch and house seasonally decorated, which I enjoy at a distance. Meanwhile, I am plotting and planning my Christmas effort, where I try to make it look all snowy and white inside, as the heat of Summer comes upon us!

We are enjoying our spider webs on the balcony. Those spiders are so busy. The birds are coming to the seed bell that I just put out. Roasted vegetables and pork, turkey sausage and apples. I love the coziness of autumn.

Fall is definitely here in Ontario. The trees are absolutely marvelous, so colourful. I will be copying your potato recipe for sure. My (English) husband agrees! Just like Mum's... Your photos are really enjoyable.

it is still very hot here...106 today so it is hard to get into the fall spirit. Hopefully it will cool down soon.

This was a particularly lovely post and those potatoes look yummy!

Wow you are super organized to be planning for Christmas already! The roasty potatoes are well worth the effort. I hope you enjoy them Patricia. Our days are getting cooler and your summer weather is warming you...I look forward to reading your blog with snippets of sunshine!

The spiders are very active here right now...webs strung up all throughout the garden! They look so pretty with dewdrops clinging to them! Almost like pearl necklaces!
You have made your new deck space into a lovely oasis of beauty. Our front porch is a cozy spot for a cup of tea or coffee. It will be used for safe social visits with friends a lot this fall.

I hope you enjoy the potatoes 🥔 they go with a lot of fall and winter meals. Roasting veggies and fall soups and stews are going to be in rotation for awhile here in our home! Take care Eleni and stay safe.

Wow your weather is so warm! You must still need to water your garden. We hand water the new roses and our potted plants but have not had rain in a few days so may need to use the sprinkler again.
Hope you are staying well Adrienne.
Take care
