OOTD and more books on style and fashion...

I met some girlfriends for coffee last week and the weather was mild so I didn't wear a coat.
The cozy Cut Loose vest over top of my Segments Merino Wool Tee.

Here I am messing about with my camera in the laundry room just before dashing out the door.

The new to me Italian handbag, a gift from my daughter.
It's by Valentina.

Vintage Saldarini silk scarf purchased several years ago in Seattle.
It was found in the Antique Mall by Pike Place and is a huge square with meticulously hand rolled edges.
If memory serves me I think I paid about $15.00 for it.

g21 skinny dark wash denim jeans
(the $10 bargain whose CPW is amounting to pennies)

Reading this great book on fashion style icons.

"Tomboy Style"
When I was a teen I think I fit into this group.

Can you tell that I am making more time to read?
The public library is on my regular route these days.

It's fun to peruse the shelves.
My book bag is pretty heavy these days.

What are you reading?

Heh, right now I am reading your post.
Seriously though, I plan to read one of the six books, of which one, will get the Finlandia Literature Reward on December 3 rd.
I´ll buy it tomorrow.

Love that scarf! I am trying to fit in an autobiography about the daughter of the former dictator of equatorial guinea who ended up taking refuge in Pyongyang! But the only edition is in Korean so it is a slower read than if I was reading in English...

Right now I am reading Elizabeth George's book Just One Evil Act. I have been reading books about women of Central America and Mexico. That colour of green (is it chartreuse?) suits you very well. I love visiting the library. I always feel rich when I have a stack of new books. When I am at home, I walk with my friend in the morning and then we have coffee in the galleria of the Library. Being retired means that we can take greater advantage of the community.

Am reading 'the little coffee shop of Kabul' by Deborah Rodriguez, different from my usual reads, about a culture I find difficult to understand, new learning curve for me.
Sadly many of our local libraries are closing due to council cut backs, also our mobile
ones are missed by elderly village people.

i am determined to finally read all of Proust's great tome this year--and next. I am on vol 3--The Guermantes Way. MP's style does not fit my reading style so i can only read 3-5 pages at a time.

I'm reading "The Interpreter of Maladies", E. B. White on dogs, and Emily Dickinson. I also love that shade of green on you--the whole outfit, in fact.

I'm reading "The Luminaries" by Elinor Catton, and "The Elegance of the Hedgehog" by Muriel Barbury.

You look fantastic in the vest. I love, love, love that colour. I wish I could find that vest somewhere around the Vancouver area. I am reading the new Elizabeth Gilbert novel "The Signature of All Things".

I'm reading Peter the Great by Robert Massie. You seem to be thriving in your retirement, so lovely to see.

I'm reading " An Army of Judiths" by CJ Underwood about a female heroine in dutch history in the 16th century. It's written by a friend of mine here in France and I'm enjoying her style of historical writing. I am curious about the jewellery you are wearing in your photo. Is that some sort of bangle with your watch ? Love the look.

I loved the Hedgehog and was surprised to hear so many acquaintances express their dislike of the relationships among the characters. What do you think?

You look very chic -- love that green! But you're needing more than a vest today, right? Brrrr, it was chilly for my morning run. As for reading, I'm just finishing Margaret Atwood's MaddAddam. . . and I think my next pick from the latest book pile will be The Luminaries (which I see Duchesse is reading right now)

Loved Hedgehog as well and I also read Barbery's Gourmet Rhapsody which I liked very much but others didn't. . . so much in the descriptions is so wry, which is a tone/mood I really appreciate, somehow. . .

We used to have a mobile library bus when I was younger but it has been gone for several decades...your comment just jogged that memory!
It is sad to think of those libraries closing. There are an alarming amount of cuts in our municipla system too.

I really enjoyed The Elegance of the Hedgehog...I liked her quirky writing style and her keen and detailed observations. I have yet to read her second novel...will add it to my growing list!

I would try searching the internet for Cut Loose and send them an email asking which retailer sells their line. Vancouver must have several shops that sell them as we have a few here in our much smaller city.

This morning I layered my Merino wool tee with my new Barbour vest and then topped it with the Joules quilted jacket...BRRR is right!
