OOTD basic black for evening.

Recent purchase a Lace top by Dex
(on sale and heavily discounted!)

Black Eileen Fisher pants
Lace top by Dex
Sweater a vintage Susan Bristol that I have had for several decades!

Vintage Ferragamo shoes
Socks by French Company Berthe
(mismatched hose which are rather fun to wear!)

Putting my best foot forward...

I love the detail at the bottom of the top.

We put up the tree and I unpacked some festive accent pieces.
We like to keep our decorations simple as the cats think they are play toys!
Chester still climbs the tree :-((

Finally had my hair trimmed...
its been ages growing the short style out.

Planning to grow it a wee bit longer still and with any luck it should be where I want it to be by next Spring.

The stylist used a flat iron to smooth out the waves.

We enjoyed a sumptuous dinner at my husband's staff party last evening.

Julie, my friend and recent travel companion, made a 7 course dinner for us all.
It was amazing and there were wine pairings with each course!!!

Hope you are enjoying the festive season so far...

That dinner menu sounds absolutely wonderful! Love the lace top and your whole outfit. I find that with longer hair, a flat iron is essential to minimizing the frizz!

Your hair looks lovely - I like it straightened like this. Your outfit is chic and elegant, as is your home decor and tree. Happy holiday! That looks like a scrumptious meal!

Julie doesn't do anything halfway she's a very talented cook and her home is an oasis of loveliness as is her garden! She's a wonderful hostess, everyone feels very pampered!

I like it too...I am going to see about buying a flat iron...it makes my hair so much sleeker looking.

The dinner was outstanding!
I gravitate to black clothing...I like being able to mix the different black pieces in my small wardrobe which gives me lots of options for different occasions.

Exactly...the flat iron works smoothing out the frizzy hair which makes it look more "done." Happy Holidays to you!

I like flat ironed hair for a change. Be sure to use a product when you straighten at high heat because grey hair gets a brassy look if its overheated. Your black tops are so pretty! You look girlish with your straight hair.

I purchased a product form the salon that protects hair from the heat by Bumble and Bumble. I like the sound of girlish!
Hope you are enjoying your holidays.

Julie really pays attention to detail...and it shows in everything that she does.
We all had a lot of fun at the party.
I hope to find a few more things to add a bit of christmas cheer to our home...they have to be cat proof items!!

I bought the flat iron this morning...and a thermal spray that protects hair from the heat. Bumble and Bumble have a few products that work so I am trying the Invisible oil and the Thermal Spray.

WOW! That would make me about 50 years old!!!
