How is your week going?
Are you having a good one?
Mine is ticking along nicely...
lots of walks
a good book on the go
the sun has been shining
BUT wouldn't you know it...
the scale is stuck at 141
Pink McCartney roses
and my latest OPI painted toes...
"A Rose at Dawn, Broke by Noon"
Spring and summer pedicures are a must for me during sandal season.
They are a wonderful experience and I feel very pampered when I have one.
~ Pure luxury ~
This shade of pink is so pretty and fresh.
I am tempted to buy a bottle and do my fingernails too.
While staying within my WW daily point count I try to find some non food rewards that help me stay on track.
Little things (rewards) that keep me on the straight and narrow.
Meeting up with my daughter for a day of fun.
I bought this wee engraved silver jug at the thrift shop
when darling daughter and I went to Sidney earlier in the week.
It is tarnished but I plan to keep it in this state as I like how it looks.
Most of my silver gets regular polishing but this little antique jug just looks so pretty with this patina.
We opted to have lunch at The Brentwood Bay Pub on the sun filled patio.
Kale, quinoa and chicken salad with orange segments
with orange juice dressing.
Beautiful presentation
tasty
satisfying
it kept me fuelled until dinnertime.
We purchased an arts and crafts quarter sawn oak table to sit between two of our chairs in The Humble Bungalow living room.
We never seem to have enough space for our guests to put their drinks.
"Someone" is giving it a once over...
Chester looks like he approves!
Anyone on Blogger having issues with their posts being delayed getting to the blog feed?
I have not figured out what is happening to my blog and it has been going on for over a month.
I hit publish it in the morning but it does not appear on the feed until late afternoon.
I am tech challenged and wondering if I need to hire someone to help me sort out the glitches.
Also the blogger spell check is not working either...
If anyone knows what i need to do I would appreciate you letting me know.
Thank you!

Thanks for your continuing thoughts and tips about weight loss. I appreciate the inspiration. I'm working on doing better myself, in that regard - it's a slow process. If I can keep myself in the frame of mind to not eat when not truly hungry and to stop before I'm actually full I find the weight comes off. I guess I tend to be an emotional eater much of the time - what is that all about?! Beautiful nail polish color. Loved the previous post with pictures of your daughter and her new husband - what a lovely couple.
Love, love, love that shade of pink - both the toes and the flowers!
I find that I'm very hungry at night - I can go all day eating sensibly and keeping within my calorie allowance but around 9pm I start to get the munchies - and I hate to go to bed feeling hungry. Not quite sure why this is happening at the moment - perhaps I need to up the protein at supper in order to keep my tummy satisfied!
Chester knows a good thing. He looks like he rules the roost.
I love your roses and your new pedicure!
My posts delay getting onto blogger but appear instantly on readers like Feedly. At first I thought the posts were delayed on blogger because of the time zone difference from here to the US. Not sure really.

I think that the secret is definitely protein at regular intervals. Tomorrow is travel day but I hope to get out for walks in Dublin. You will enjoy The Summer Before the War. Just finished it. Chester does look proprietary. Bon week-end!
Really love that shade of polish... .very summery! It's nice to be able to eat out and have food that's not only delicious but healthy. Chester certainly approves of your new table ...It looks as though he's enjoying the sun as well
Enjoy the rest of the week
Rosie
Those pinks are luscious, both the flowers and the polish. Love 'em. Life didn't cooperate with Weight Watchers this week. Grandson fell and ended up at the hospital- hospital chicken fingers with granddaughter for dinner. A trip to the NY State fair is always a diet buster. I tried, but fell victim to frozen cheesecake on a stick. And tonight, we go out to dinner (but even with one wine, it is manageable.) All worked out; the miles put on at the Fair hopefully will cancel the cheese cake. Grandson had a concussion, but is doing well. And today is another day. Happy Weekend!
That pink is lovely both in the roses and on your toes. I have managed to get out a bit more this week despite having visitors who have been sick. Need to try to keep on track though.
Lovely roses and toes! My weight loss has stuck as well so you are not alone. I'm trying to use water as a snack away from main meals. Makes for extra exercise as well!! As you can imagine if you drink a lot of water.
Pretty sure that's Chester's sexy look.
I used to have an issue with Emotional eating ...for me it was hormonal...chocolates in peri menopause and to combat stress at work. Now that I am post menopause and have retired these issues are not a big problem. If you keep a journal of when you feel like snacking and write down your emotional state at the time you might be able to counteract the habit...just a thought.
If you have to eat to satisfy a need for comfort or whatever else you might be seeking make it a healthy snack and portion it out before you start to eat it then stop. If you are not satisfied after the snack try doing something else...call a friend, go for a walk, read a book, knit...
I love the pink too!
I used to have that late night hunger...I blame TV food ads and the programs that Mr. HB watches on the food channel!! It is a hard habit to break...good luck!
He checks out everything new that comes into the humble bungalow!
I think that is a cat thing...
I wondered if Blogger is just getting "blogged down" with all the bloggers who post! My bloglovin feed is virtually immediate...weird but at least the posts eventually appear.
Bon Voyage!! Safe travel and enjoy your trip.
Hi Rosie,
Most restaurants have healthy options...the temptations are there though to sneak in a naughty meal! I have to avoid looking at french fries and burgers...
Oh my an accident like that would throw me into a tailspin and eating sensibly would be the last thing on my mind. Hope your grandson is doing better.
Oh no...sick house guests must be really tricky....they must feel terrible being sick at your house and you must feel like you need to tend to their care.
Hope things get better soon...
Water is a great trick to use when you are feeling peckish..but don't totally ignore your rumbling tummy...a piece of fruit like an apple or a banana are quick and easy and will not derail your progress.
Oh you might be right! Chester is a very expressive cat...full of mischief too.
{{SIGH}} My scale is stuck too! Maybe September will be our lucky month?
I'm not that computer savvy either, but have you cleared your cache lately? That has helped me in the past.
Cote de Texas has had problems with Blogger! I have my own problems with Wordpress which seem to be okay now!
Great post!!
I find having some sugar free candy helps get me past that time. O I have a warm milk or brush my teeth. Don’t know why but having fresh pepperminty flavour takes away the urge. Tonkath
Hostess, I want to encourage you on your weight loss efforts. WW is an excellent plan. I have a tip. When I get a munchie urge, first thing is to be aware of it, or identify that I want to eat beyond my plan. Then I drink water. If I still want to eat, and I know it's emotional or whatever (not that my blood sugar is low, I will eat something protein for that) then I will eat a pickle. Pickles for me help stop an urge for evening snacks, like chips or cookies. Of course I don't keep those off plan things in the house, either.
Looks like you didn't buy a table for yourself, looks like you've purchased a kitty pedestal.
I have enjoyed your recent posts! The pinks, the salad, Chester. Great job!
Lovely pink toes. Weight loss is so tricky, isn't it? And difficult. My husband, who is very slender, admires my self-discipline when I bake for him and eat nothing. That admiration fuels more resolve. I tell myself, I am stronger than the cookie. Most times I win, other times the cookie beats me hands down.
Will try clearing my cache...thank you!
Sounds like there are quite a few issues for bloggers no matter which platform we choose to use...
I never thought of pickles as a snack to ward off cravings but I will certainly give it a try! WW is a great program and I have had lots of success with it in the past.
I hope Chester doesn't think the table is his...especially when we are entertaining guests!
You are incredibly disciplined to bake for your husband and not eat!
Cookies and baked goods are not my downfall...my problem are chips, potatoes, and french fries.
Can I blame my poor mother? She is 90, and I'm trying desperately to keep enough weight on her. The problem is, she is disinterested in much beyond bread and butter. Now, late in life she's developed a sweet tooth and loves ice cream. Drs order are an always extra butter pat, protein drink, and ice cream every day! Couple that with the fact she doesn't like to eat alone....what's a dutiful daughter to do? Sigh. And triple that with my own propensity for evil salty snacks.....
But I'm being inspired by your weight loss posts, and realize that perhaps there is still hope. Thanks for encouraging us all! jen
