Resort: pajama's and more...Part 1.

Do you buy new pajama's when going away on a trip?
A new pair in fuchsia pink have been purchased...

Small travel sizes of Aveda Shampure and Phomollient and Avene products have also been sourced to fit inside my cosmetic bag. Packing light makes sense as the bag needs to have room for purchases and be easy to tote.

Mother and my Sister are my travel companions so I like to wear new pajama's.
We often stay up late and talk well into the night over a glass or two of bubbly.

a wee bit of lace
a V neck
the back is sheer and gauzy

Pepper is on the job
she started attacking the lace!
Every time I lay something new down on the bed for a photo shoot she turns into the Fashion Police!

Pepper's so lovely that I think I am dressing in her colours.
Mette hinted at the possibility and I think she's onto something.
I bought a new sweater...
and it reminds me of Pepper.

Style My Way
goes with all my black, white and greys...
was reduced as an end of season clearance
then further reduced by 50% off the last ticketed price.....
at under $20 how could I leave it?

Honestly I am turning into a bargain shopper
it could be those renovations.

I have a lot going on in this post and it seems to be rather discombobulated so apologies...

Our getaway was such a good tonic for Mother.
She spends a lot of time alone now
many of her friends have passed away and several of her women condo pals have sold and moved into care facilities.

Our suite at the resort was large and had all the amenities.
The rooms were vast and very quiet in the wing that we were settled in.
It didn't take us long to get into holiday mode
have a look.

kitchen
I didn't take pictures of the bathrooms or the dining area
as we had strewn all our stuff by the time I got my camera out
and I wanted it to look pristine!

Unfortunately it was not sunny...
but Sis and I swam in the outdoor pool just the same...
we had to get some exercise because we knew Mother would be taking us out for dinner.

Beef tenderloin, mashed potatoes, carrots, broccoli and wine demi~glace.
Melt in your mouth perfection...
Prosecco was our night cap in our room and we did sit around in our PJ's and robes!
(it pays to be prepared)

High spirits and excitement
laughter
reminiscing
chatting and sharing
pictures
fabulous family time.

Moments to save and hold tight to our hearts.

Mother had her very first ever spa visit!
we had three side~by~side manicures...
in the lush facilities
so relaxing...

"Hearts and Tarts"
looks a bit like a French Manicure

When Mother's onboard
"shopping happens"
and "happen" it did!

I'll post my "loot shoot" soon so stay tuned...

Pepper was happy to see me come home.
I got lots of pats and licks
she's now napping on my bed.

We've had snow flurries so the drive home was a winter wonderland...
I must get back to reality and rustle up some dinner for Mr. HB.

It looks like you had a very good time in my neighbourhood! Did you see me waving in your direction? I love the idea of a mum/daughter escape - especially the part with prosecco and staying up chatting.....and of course the manicure!

I love "Fresh Produce"
When we were at Roche Harbour in the San Juan Islands we were able to buy their summer clothes which are perfect for boating.

You are a good daughter to take your mother on a "getaway." I try to spend one night a week overnight with my mother, who is increasingly housebound. It is very little trouble to me and she loves to have a reason to cook.

You are indeed a wonderful person. Kind and considerate. I never went anywhere with my mother, but then again, our relationship was very difficult. I have worked it out through therapy, and I am in terms with my past.
I really think, that our furry family members rule the colors and textures we use.
During the past years, I have more black in my wardrobe than ever. Our interior textiles are dog friendly. Oriental rugs are easy to vacuum clean, although the guide on oriental rugs does not favor vacuuming them.
Sometimes I have " swept " the rugs with a damp cloth, which gathers the fur very well; washed the cloth, and redone the sweeping. It kind of makes the colors brighter. This is only a subjective observation.

How wonderful to have a mother that you love and enjoy like that. I'm envious. Maybe we choose our pets based on colors we already like? Not sure which comes first. But my dogs are black, brown and gray, and those colors are a huge part of my wardrobe. Hope I don't find a navy blue dog!

So happy you had a nice getaway with "the girls!" Love the sweater, can hardly wait to see The Loot! Pepper is a wonderful color inspiration. Nature Knows Best...

Looks like a lovely trip!
Why such a great colour for a nightie but not for wearing out in the world?

I enjoy Mother's company so I don't feel that spending time with her is a chore. Sounds like you do too with your mom Terri.

My Miele vacuum seems to pick up most of Pepper's fur but we have lint brushes in the car and at the front door just in case!
Black seems to rule here too and after a cuddle with Pepper there are telltale signs.

You've made me smile this morning thinking about coloured pets Kathy!
Imagine if we had vanity pets to go with our outfits...

Do you remember that TV series Honey West where the detective had a pet ocelot and she wore animal prints 24/7?

It passes all too soon....

I have a sense of modesty Princess, but I could wear that shade of fuchsia out and about!

mmmm...steak and mashed potatoes....

I bet hot pink is a great color on you, the more because your outer wardrobe is sedately neutral. An excellent strategy: buying saturated colors for pajamas and other underpinnings to only "display" on special occassions or to a special someone.

It seems that I get compliments when wearing this bold shade...
once in awhile we all need to push the envelope ever so slightly!

Sounds like a fantastic weekend and the sweater is very Pepper! The hot pink is great, for some reason orange is really resonating with me lately (a colour I hardly ever wear!)

That sounds like a wonderful getaway!

Pepper is a gorgeous kitty - and you can't go wrong with any colour combinations found in nature, including cats!
