Love these pretty pink blossoms on the tree out front of the cottage.
I am tempted to pick a sprig and pop them into a vase.
They are so delicate and frilly, almost frothy in their form.
A subtle scent gently fills the air when you are standing beneath the branches.
A yellow primula and a variegated iris for the garden.
I planted the iris out front of the cottage and hope that the deer will ignore it!
The primula will come home with me to be planted in The Humble Bungalow Garden.
The Pender Island Garden Club had a sale at the community centre.
I purchased the plants from the garden centre and the shell was from their sale.
I quite like shells and have a few that I have collected over the years.
They reside on the window ledge of the guest room.
This one will be headed there soon.
I found this arts and crafts Ruskin pewter brooch at the Nu To Yu thrift shop.
I purchased it for a friend who collects these pins.
It amazes me what treasures can be found in this tiny little shop.
Speaking of treasures look at this sweet little toadstool!
We walked 3 km along a road under a magnificent canopy of trees.
Our destination was Gather a new cafe at Hope Bay.
They serve tea, coffee, beer, wine, baked goods and light meals.
There are musical events held here on occasion in the evening.
It's been open for 3 weeks and already has a loyal following.
The local Pender Island knitting ladies were there for their meeting.
I could not help but to eavesdrop and sneak a peek at what knitting projects they were sharing.
It is very similar to the knitting group that I attend at a local Victoria cafe.
We both had a cold beer...
mine was a light IPA and Mr. HB chose a dark stout.
I opted for the curry vegetarian bowl served on brown rice.
It was incredibly tasty but I could not eat it all!
After lunch we walked back through the woods to the cottage.
We did a lot of walking so we felt little guilt
relaxing and reading our books on the sunny deck.
April has been a blur...
so many things have kept us busy.
The cottage makes us slow our pace and we really relax and sleep soundly.
We go to bed earlier and get up before 7 most days.
The fresh air,
peace and quiet,
long walks in nature
put us into this zen zone.
It's a beautiful sunny morning here at the cottage.
Hope wherever you are, that your week is off to a great start!
Thank you for stopping by The Humble Bungalow Blog.

I think your time at the cottage is like our time at our farm---relaxing and away from the cares of everyday life. Enjoy your time there. Such lovely photos you posted today.
Your time at the cottage always sounds so wonderful - how lovely to have a place like that to get away to, relax, and refresh.
It’s wonderful having a place to cocoon and relax. Your farm time does sound very much like our cottage!
Enjoy!
It’s a godsend...being able to just be in the moment and slow down is such a tonic. It’s like a breathing and posing in a yoga studio 27/7 !!!
It looks like a paradise, beautiful, tranquil, cozy,at sea........

I'm thinking that we are going to need a get-a-way place for some weeks in the summer if the construction ever starts. We're wrapped in blue mesh and our glass is off the balcony. The work crew started to rip up the floor that I lovingly chose a few years ago. i usually stay home in the summer but...Your days at the cottage always look so tranquil. We've not had access to a summer home for many years but you really don't need to go far for that feeling of peace. Enjoy!
Your time at the cottage sounds lovely. Long walks, sea views, cafe meals and even beautiful trees and landscapes. A little piece of heaven. Totally and completely enjoyable. Susan
I write to thank you for the pics of the KL tee - after seeing how well you wear yours, I decided it would fit nicely in my world. I seldom have spare money for clothes and it cost a lot more in UK than at your side of the world but I am so pleased. Thank you so much.
I also want to comment on the beautiful quality of your photo's; well done you and than you for the pleasure you are spreading around via your blog.
Dottoressa,
It really is a tonic coming to this place of natural beauty...we are in awe of nature's grandeur.
I know that you will find ways of escaping the noise and chaos of the renovations....you are very resourceful and as you like to walk and read there are many lovely spots...a cafe, the library, a park or the pool!
The weather is so much better now too which makes is easier to be outdoors...
take care!
As my husband always says it's his happy place!
Great to hear that you are happy with your new tee!
Glad that you are enjoying the images here on the blog...there are so many beautiful things to capture and share.
