Checking in to say....

My week is shaping up to be another busy one...
we are in the midst of planning a catered celebration this weekend.
I'm not giving too much away, it's not a surprise...
it's a milestone birthday.

Walks with friends, French lessons, a Grammy play date, the regularly scheduled weekly Mother/ daughters get together, domestics, grocery shopping and that's just the start.

The trees are bursting forth with buds...
my energy has been ebbing on the low side so I have been trying to go to bed earlier.
My sleep patterns are changing and sleep is interrupted several times through the night.
It frustrates me no end because I used to be able to sleep most of the night.
Most of my friends have mentioned that this too is their "new normal."

The bright and shocking colours of Spring
fresh air and sunshine coupled with a good strong cup of coffee are helping me stay awake and alert.

I've been toying with the idea of making some art cards from my photographs.
I've purchased some cards and envelopes and ordered some prints...
just need to carve out some time to glue the photos onto the card stock
then muster up the courage to take them to a few of the card shops and see if they are at all interested...
if not, I will have some for my personal use.

French "homework" reading Paris Vogue!

Ines de la Fressange is the focus of this issue...
J'adore Ines.

I must close for now as I am off to meet a friend and French class follows.

Photographs from my walks have featured prominently in this post and I hope that they have elevated your spirits.
Enjoy your week!

Your photos are exquisite. The bright purple crocuses shout out "Spring" to those of us still in the "deep freeze" surrounded by snow. Thank you for the true day brightener. Your photo note cards would be a real find. Even just for personal use, they would bring joy to someone's day.

You have an artistic "eye" and I'm sure that your cards would be lovely. The weeks pass so quickly and it seems as though spring is here. Bonne journée.

I'm so envious ! Your beautiful photo's make me wish we had some Spring here also ! Here in Cleveland, Ohio it's about 2 degrees Fahrenheit today, with a few feet of icy snow everywhere ! We have not had a break - temps way below freezing all week long.....
Love your colorful photos - I can almost smell the fragrance !

I have been thinking about trying to print up some cards too...but only for my personal use. The problem is that I don't know how to print them, I want to print directly on the card stock, it requires a whole new learning curve on the computer...but maybe some time I will give it a try. Good luck with yours, I am sure they will be lovely.

You should definitely make some cards and sell them. I love your photos and many others will as well. What a fun project!

Your photographs are gorgeous. They would make beautiful cards. The color of that flowering quince accented by the texture and color of that thick woody vine was amazing. I had to stop and study it for a while to take it all in. Thanks for showing them to us!

Isn't the interrupted sleep thing annoying? I've been having the same problem for the past year or so. I got a Fitbit last October, and it allows me to track my sleep. After several months of doing so I am starting to see a few things that make it worse. One is stress, which is no surprise. The other is having tea after about 1:30 or 2:00 in the afternoon. Because I am able to fall asleep right away it hadn't occurred to me that my tea drinking was contributing to my sleep problem. I also think it is our age. There are lots of good things about this time of life, but I fear a good night's sleep isn't one of them.

My new normal is four hours a night, I would love to sleep for 6 or 7 hours a night. It makes the days so long.
I can't believe you have flowers there already.

Your photos would make such beautiful cards.......perhaps you could sell them online? I might know someone who would buy some (yes, me)! The beautiful blossoms are a sweet relief from the unending mounds of not-so-pristine white here. Jen, NY

Your photos are vivid, thoughtfully composed and make the "ordinary" a little extra-ordinary. Keep 'em coming! May I ask what make and model of camera you use? Merci!

Leslie I think many of your photos are marketable and if you can sell them; that's icing on the cake. I initially made my No Sacrifice products; le Mobile, Love Handles, and SOS Save Our Shape preservers for myself, and now have three patent pending products.
Nothing is impossible.

Really love the red flowers juxtaposed against the woody vine. Put me on the list of buyers when you've completed the project.
And, happy milestone birthday to you. Just had one of my own, and celebrated my daughter's this past weekend. Getting older is just fabulous, I believe.

Our winter has been very mild, I do think that Spring has Sprung!
We are having a catered dinner with family and friends in my friends' lovely home and we are celebrating a few days early so we could have it on the weekend.

I put together some of the cards and will use them for personal use as I need to do some research into what I need to do to sell them...I don't want to form a company so it might be just a pipe dream!

Mother Nature is a great muse...she puts on the show and all I do is click the button!

I drink decsf tea in the afternoon so I don't think tea is the culprit...mid life women all seem to suffer this symptom. On the days I walk 10K I still wake in the night so it's not for lack of exercise.

Oh thank you...we are having a very early Spring this year.

The cards I found have an embossed border and two sided sticky tape squares to affix the photos...I have no printer but I am sure that you can get some online tutorial that will help you learn how to use card stock and print your images.

Thank you for the pep talk Susan...I need to do some research as to how I go about this without starting a business or a company!

The red quince is pretty isn't it ? and coupled with the gnarled wood it really "pops."

Really vivid aren't they?

Did you sleep better when you were in LA?
I usually don't sleep as soundly when I am in a hotel but on our boat I sleep like a baby...I think it is the salt air and the motion of the ocean.

Online sales would be a learning curve.
You are getting a lot of snow this year...we have many grey days of overcast skies to contend with here in the Pacific Northwest and they can be very tedious so I can empathize with how you might be feeling.

What lovely colours to cheer the day. Why not try a local printer for your cards, it's what we do. Long print runs are a thing of the past, now you can have as many or as few as you wish printed for a very small outlay. Wishing you success and a VERY HAPPY CELEBRATION at the weekend!
