Blue Skies and Sunshine
help keep me motivated to
walk 5-6 km each day
averaging
10,000 steps
Mindful eating using the former 360 WW regime.
Logging my points.
Weighing in every few days...
weight loss is happening!
My clothes are looser
I could use a couple of new things but it really is too soon to revamp my wardrobe...
Although my tops don't feel that baggy
my jeans definitely did, they were really sad and saggy.
I masked up and went to Marshalls.
The aisles are wide and it was quite quiet.
SO
It didn't take long to find a few pairs to try on.
Have you heard of this brand of jeans?
Royalty?
Made in the USA.
They were very reasonably priced
so IF I go down another size
I won't be out of pocket too much money.
The raw edges at the bottoms made me waver a wee bit.
I love the fit and the buttons are fun!
I can see these with some Converse sneakers and a Tee
or
a crisp white shirt my red ballet flats and pearls.
I feel SO MUCH BETTER just having a pair of jeans that FIT!
I was pulling my other jeans up constantly and I could pull them down over my hips without undoing the zipper!
Little things can be encouraging as we navigate a weight loss journey.
I've been eating lots of veggies and fruit.
Cutting back on carbs and reducing the amount of meat.
Eggs, No fat Greek Yogurt, Beans, Lentils, Salads
Fish and lean chicken
make up the bulk of my meals.
Soups with a tomato base and added veggies are great for my lunches.
I am enjoying a decaf skinny latte most days too which is a treat.
a wee reward for all the walking.
We got some exciting news in BC this week!
Gatherings outdoors with a group of 10 or less are now allowed.
Which means, coffee, picnics, dinner on the deck
with a few friends and our small family.
I feel like jumping for JOY!
I'll get to see our grandchildren really soon!
How are things progressing with the pandemic where you live?
Stay Safe.

Enjoy your blog so much. It always raises my spirits with your kind and gentle words, and beautiful photos. I just received my first vaccine here in Cleveland Ohio, so that was quite a weight off my shoulders. Here in Ohio the eligibility is age 50 and above, and then some chronic diseases will allow you to have the vaccine (if you can find an appointment !). I hope you all stay well and safe in Canada ! Thank you again for a lovely, lovely blog !!
That is a lot of walking! Well done you. I do not seem to be able to manage more than five or six thousand steps per day. Are you doing Weight Watchers online? I stopped going to meetings nine years ago, and now the weight is creeping back on. When I investigated I found no daytime meetings these days, it is all changed. Your new jeans look very stylish, as do you! How wonderful you can now gather outdoors and see your grandchildren. We have done well here, but there are new cases of stronger strains popping up around Australia. Fingers crossed, as the vaccinations slowly get started.
Congratulations on getting the vaccine! We hear that the vaccines will be fast tracked as the variants of Covid are a threat to us all. I think we might get the vaccinations in April or May...I think it will depend a lot on the supply though as no vaccines are currently made in Canada. I am pleased to hear that you enjoy reading my blog. I appreciate the encouragement to keep posting! Enjoy your week!
Walking 10,000 steps is between 5 and 6km for my height and stride.
I am not using the online WW I am using my calculator and program that I signed up for in 2015 when I lost 30 pounds....I kept all the books etc and aam just logging the point in a small notebook. There are no local meetings here either...online is the safest way to connect. We look forward to meeting again with our grands.
The vaccines have started here with the over 80 age group and will work the way down by decade of age groups. Hope the process is fast and safe. Good luck to you too!
Take care
10,000 steps a day??? I'm so impressed. I've started tracking my food and I've at least lost a pound. Just ordered a bunch of veggies. So I'm on my way!!!
Hello Leslie! It's been awhile since I have replied/posted to your blog; almost 8 to 10 years ago! I still enjoy reading it and wanted to say that you look real nice in your latest picture. I am now 61 and my weight fluctuates even though I no longer eat meat or pork for several years now due to colon cancer in my family. I feel better and walk everyday but only reach 10,000 steps one or two days weekly. I need to start cutting out carbs and sweets. Anyway, glad you and your family are safe in BC and my retired husband and I are too still trying to get our COVID shots scheduled. We are planning a move further south to the Texas Gulf coast as soon as our house sells. Take care and keep your posts coming; I learn so much from them. Lamar in Texas
You, as always, are an inspiration!
You are really motivated with your walking! The payoff is great not just for a smaller size but for all of those other healthy reasons. I like the unfinished bottoms. It seems to me that jeans don't need to be expensive just to fit well. I've got a couple of those pairs that don't need to be unzipped to be pulled down. They are too big! Saggy baggy is really never a good look. I should get out my old WW stuff too. I really was into it at the time. The recipes are good and whatever point system we use, it's only about accountability. On the other hand, Provence Marinaside is featuring a wine pairing dinner with your Sea Star Winery. I am tempted to treat my daughter (M.Brian doesn't drink). A combination of Gulf Island and Provence is an opportunity not to be missed.
No I have not heard of that brand!
BABY STEPS HERE I still am not vaccinated..........
Restaraunts are opening up!
SPring is coming in FIVE DAYS!!!!!NEW BLOG POST YOU WILL LOVE!
We don't have ant covid in the community here in NZ, so life for us is like normal just masks on buses and planes. We went to a Crowded House concert last night with thousands of others singing and dancing. We know how lucky we are.
Love the jeans.
Julie
It sounds like a lot but I usually walk twice a day...morning and afternoon. It is easy to do this during Covid because I really don't get out for anything much except groceries and some shopping!
Good luck...btw I worked up to this I didn't have the stamina at the beginning but I can do it now after 6 weeks of gently increasing the time I walk.
Hello Lamar!
I hope you get that vaccination soon. We hear that there is a decent supply in the US and many people have already had their second shot. Hope you were safe during that terrible snowstorm. I watched the news and was shocked at the state of things.
Fortunately I no longer have a sweet tooth which really helps with WW...I do eat fruit and it has fruit sugars in it which keep me satisfied much better than a piece of cake or a chocolate! Good luck with your house sale.
:-)) Thank you!
XO
I need to keep moving to keep my muscles toned and to feel better about myself. Oh that French dinner with Sea Star wines sounds like a must! Walk a bit more and enjoy the meal. WW allows for a splurge each week and you can have a couple of low point days either side of the dinner which would be a WIN WIN!
We had dinner there with friends a few times and loved the location and the food! Enjoy it!
You should be getting closer to receiving the shot...are they doing it by age group? They are using that as a guideline here and if you are an essential care worker you jump the queue.
I LOVED the garden in Tasmania on your blog! WOW THOSE LUPINES !!!
NZ has had some great safety protocols in place. Good leadership helps too! We envy your country in many ways and our SIL is from there and we have seen so many lovely pictures...it is very much like BC.
Take care Poppy
I have actually been exercising more during the winter. I do online yoga with Do Yoga With Me, and free online workout on YouTube with Heather Robertson. Walking is a bit more of a challenge; I have my fitbit set to 7500 steps and make it most days. I do still work, and sit at a desk for 8 hours so it is a bit of a challenge.
First - love the fact that you need new jeans - way to go! Second, like the jeans you chose. I bought some button fly jeans from Gap for the first time last year and really like them. I am very happy that a looser fit has come back into style. I never found skinnies suited me or felt right for me. Slim fit are ok, but not skinny.
We are looking forward to our shot, and the fact we can get together with others outside, especially now that the weather is trying to warm up.
