Linen Lust...

Luscious Linen
Wrapped in gross grain ribbon.

Linen is from the Orkneys
Original design apron made by Rough Linen in California.

I ordered the Bella apron in graphite grey at the beginning of Covid and I love it.

New linen towels from a charming shop in Sidney-by-the-Sea.

Hansell and Halkett
 sells
vintage wares, locally made candles, jewelry,
soaps, linens, flowers and plants.

I decided that I needed a black iron hook to hang the aprons on...
why hide these lovely pieces in a cupboard?
They get worn every day for cleaning and cooking.
So beautiful and useful.

Ready for me when I enter the kitchen.
They protect my clothing from spills and splatters.
The aprons wash up really well and they get softer with each wash.

OOTD
White shirt and pearls with the Bella Apron.

Do you wear aprons?

Do you love linen?

I use a linen bath sheet and hand towel in our bathroom.

I love linen clothing too!

Think I have an obsession...maybe I need to attend a Linen's Anonymous meeting :-)

Thank you for stopping by The Humble Bungalow Blog.

Seen at Oak Bay Marina on my walk...
a whimsical mermaid made with wire and plastic bags.
Nice to see public art in our daily round.
Artists create so many beautiful things that enrich our days.

Take Care and Stay Safe.

I love aprons and always wear one when I'm working outside or inside. I taught kindergarten for 40 years and have quite a fun collection for school. I've had my eye on the first apron since you posted it a few months ago. I prefer a more "grown up" apron for home and I think I'm going to order it. Thanks for sharing the resource.

I saw that mermaid on the Victoria Buzz! I have come around on linen, from hating it to loving it. I just picked up a beautiful embellished linen jacket from Turnabout yesterday! They have a whole rack of linen clothes - just sayin'. :-P

Love your linen collections. I,too, find it comforting and practical. I used to save linen items now I use them every day.

I'm a fan of linen, too. It wears so well and is so comfortable. Your Rough Linen aprons are beautiful!

I do love linen, and wear it a lot, both in readymade and memade garments. It is the perfect fabric for our hot and humid climate. Your aprons are absolutely gorgeous, and now I aspire to a linen apron too. Perhaps I could piece together some off-cuts? I have linen tea towels, but have never tried linen sheets. I suspect I would cut them up and made a pair of pants or a dress :) PS LOVE that black hook too, very chic.

I adore linen too.Since I have slept on linen sheets, I will never go back to cotton. I love the iron hook. Where did you get it? And I havent used a linen bath towel. How does it compare to the Turkish towel I use do you think?

Cindy wearing an apron while teaching kindergarten would have been a great idea! I remember the wee hands with finger paints, paste and an assortment of other sticky things! You'll enjoy these linen aprons as they are a bit more elegant than some. Happy shopping!

Ah I didn't realize this mermaid had made the press! I love seeing creative art in our neighbourhoods. Linen clothing is definitely on my radar for Spring and summer :-))

You live in a beautiful area amongst some wonderful bloggers!
I don't have her sheets but I did buy a set from Lands" End...I have an assortment of French linen tea towels and yes lots of napkins for entertaining...when that happens again I will be grateful that I am prepared.

Oh you must enjoy using the linens...they should not be left languishing in a closet or a drawer they are such lovely accessories for the home.

Patricia you say the loveliest things :-)) I appreciate your cheering me on! Our blog hobbies are places that we can "escape" to in these strange times.

I saw a few pretty shades of linen tops at Marshalls this week. I was tempted but I have several from past seasons and I have scarves with pretty colours to add interest so I decided for now that I have enough...but that may change soon!

Linen was what all the women in the wee French village wore the first time I was in France in 2015...Italy makes a lot of lovely linen dresses and in the heat they were worn a lot! I purchased one when I returned home and have been a fan of linen ever since.I have linen sheets too! Cutting them does seem a wee bit drastic does it not? But you are a sewer and are much more creative than I am...have fun!

I love linen. I'm eager to put away winter clothes now and to move on to my "wrinkle wear".
Linen clothing is so cool and comfortable. I always wear an apron with pockets for cooking or household chores. Those shops in Sidney are lovely. If we were to move anywhere, it would be to Sidney. It's such a wonderful walking and browsing town. Almost perfect for older adults. Are the linen sheets soft? I really enjoy nice bedding. It may be time for something new.

The softness of the sheets is very cozy and they are cool. The iron hook was purchased at a local gift shop and I think it would be readily available...I have used the fluffy cotton looped towels before switching to linen...the linen ones dry super fast and never retain a musty smell, they are slightly rougher and stimulate the skin before I add my body lotion. I quite like mine but they may take some getting used to as my husband prefers the looped plush terry towels...so we have our own towels in the bathroom!

I love aprons. Wear them all the time while cooking and even when eating as I'm notorious in getting food on my shirts. I do like linen, but my younger sister is obsessed with linen. :-)

The linen sheets ARE soft! Lands' End pre-washes the sheets before selling them...I just checked out their new ones and they are currently on sale.
On my afternoon walk I went into Mercedes Lane in the Cook Street Village and they have a lot of pretty linen clothes in from Italy.
I have several linen dresses and a tunic and tops from a few seasons ago so I didn't buy anything but IF the perfect dress crosses my path ...it may be difficult to pass up!

I wear my apron too when we are eating spaghetti...I find tiny little drops on my whites if I don't!
Your younger sister could join me for the first meet up of Linen's Anonymous!

Old damaged linen makes beautiful paper. I love linen clothing for the muggy summer months and love buying old damaged linen sheets, etc. from antique dealers who can't sell the damaged linen to anyone else. Love linen in any condition.
