Sunshine award via The Rich Life on a Budget...

I was caught off guard reading Adrienne's blog recently and seeing at the very end that I, the Humble Hostess, was mentioned in the Sunshine Award.
Many thanks for including me.
I'll pass this on to a few other bloggers.
I hope they will be able to join in.

1) What’s your favorite scent and how long have you been wearing it?
Oh It's Hermes...
Voyage d'Hermes 3 years and counting... a fresh new gift package purchased at Holt Renfrew on our recent weekend getaway.

2) Do you prefer city living or the country life?
I live in a very small city, a 15 minute walk to town...it's quiet here. I think I live in the best of both worlds!

3) Lipstick, lip gloss or chapstick?
Revlon's new shea butter lip gloss...and Chanel's Absolute Rouge.

4) If you could have a chef, a housekeeper, a driver or a masseuse at your service 24 hours a day, which would you choose?
Really I'd love all of them! But the masseuse would be divine.

5) Where do you do most of your shopping for clothes: online, malls, discount stores (like Ross), boutiques, thrift and consignment shops, or outlets?
I'd say my local boutique and not far off is Land's End with thrift shops not far behind.

6) What is one food that you can’t stand the taste of?
LIVER...yuck!

 7) What’s the last movie you saw in a theatre?
Skyfall... James Bond 007... Daniel Craig!

8) Drugstore or high-end designer makeup?
Drugstore.

9) If you won a round-trip ticket for two to any destination in the world, where would you go and who would you take?
Paris...with my husband!

10) Real “old fashion” books made with paper or electronic reads?

Paper books...

Fly little bird fly!

Fly little bird fly...
be free and easy.

Test those wings that you were born with and use those aerodynamics...
you have the ability
 just do it.

Be very afraid of this next image....
footwear,
of the mummsy kind...

I have lost my mind and gone for comfort over fashion.
It''s true.

I am no longer barefoot prancing on the slivery wood floors.
My feet are warm and happy.
But they scare me when I look down and see those faces.

I put these soft slippers on my feet and fell madly in love.
Not with their looks but with the way they conformed and cushioned my tired toes.
Lambs or Sheep...
does it matter?

They are a fashion no no of the first order,
scary!

I am shuffling through The Humble Bungalow in these...
toting my Haws watering can
pottering and watering the house plants.

This miniature orchid is putting on a great blooming show
and I water it once a week.
Routines are so not on these days..
everything has changed.

I hope that I have chosen the right job in the career department...
the move is radical
I am going back to my roots...
elementary school
and I'll be working with special needs students.

Autism was my forte and I have come full circle...
I may be posting less
or possibly more
I suppose it will depend on my level of energy
and what inspires me.

I 'll let you know how things are going but it might take awhile...

I might be a stranger in a strange land
for a wee bit...

bear with me as I am standing on the precipice of something new...
I hope to soar and not plummet
but with any new endeavor there lies a modicum of doubt...

I wish that someone was holding my hand!

Hope that your week is off to a great start.

Blogger how timely, you've hidden my followers, so here goes nothing!

Blogger glitches have arrived here in the Humble Bungalow...
my followers have disappeared or perhaps have run fleeing to the hills.

Well maybe I am blogging to an audience that is not there!
What a great time to push the envelope and my comfort level
and try to practice my new attempt at acceptance.

It was recently suggested by Janet and The Suburban Princess that I model the new LBD...
so with that in mind I thought I would dive right into the deep end
I know how to swim but
it will take every ounce of courage I can muster.
(I feel the same way that I did when I was 6, standing at the edge of the pool...I was fearful and shaking)

I asked Mr. HB to take a few pictures of me in my new LBD
this bamboo dress makes me feel happy when I have it on.
(apologies to Sophia Loren)
see previous post for more on that

I am struggling with posting this image
Many other bloggers seem to be so much more at ease in front of the camera
mater and janet  and deja pseu are all women who make it look so easy.

Observe if you dare
(you might not even be there)
which could make this post so much easier!

I can do this...
I can do this...
I can do this...

You see before you
an older chassis
a
buddha bellied buxom belle
wearing a Bamboo LBD by Gilmour

This vessel carries me through my daily round
I am seriously grateful to be alive!

I did it!
bravely
baring my face...
remember
there is a much younger and smaller figured woman
living in this skin.

Phew!
glad  that's over with...

Now please join with me and have a bright and cheerful weekend!

The giveaway happens on Monday so pop back and see if you are the winner...
I hope Blogger will have sorted out the follower issue by then...

The Gardener's Cottage has challenged me...and will the 10 I choose accept the challenge!

Janet at The Gardeners' Cottage has challenged me!
I am to post my 6th blog image and tell why I posted it.

I posted this because I actually found this heart rock on the beach!
The one with the circle is not as rare but things in nature do inspire me.

I will copy what I wrote back at the 6th....

Humble Bungalow is a small and modest home in which to reside. I have often looked at the Real Estate listings and in particular, at larger Craftsman homes of a similar vintage with thoughts of storage and closets and room for "stuff." I swoon for storage!
I do collect stuff. Natural stuff. Free stuff. Stuff without packaging. Stuff with lots of packaging. No name stuff, brand name stuff. Vintage stuff. Stuff that speaks to me, makes my heart sing, makes me smile.
When new stuff comes in, old stuff goes out. I donate to our local Hospice Thrift Shop which is staffed by an energetic group of women and as I drop off my donations I cruise through the shop just in case I spy some new gem needing a home in the humble bungalow. I am always surprised to see the quality and variety of items that they have in the shop.

I had to smile when I spied this rock at the beach on one of my walks to the waterfront. I carried it home and it sits on the window ledge beside my laptop in the kitchen. I cannot imagine ever parting with it!

So part of my challenge is to get 10 bloggers to post their 6th and tell why...
here is my requested list and I hope that you are following and can oblige!

Pop by and visit these lovely blogs...you will want to follow them on their daily round!
