The weather was amazing, the seas calm, and we were able to gaze at the gorgeous natural scenery from our balcony.
Canada Place at the Vancouver Cruise Ship Terminal.
Large arrangements of fresh flowers were strategically placed in the public areas of the ship.
One of the many dining rooms...
we dined here for most of our meals during the cruise.
Cozy chairs and lounges which invited relaxation during the voyage.
The Atrium
We opted for room service the first morning...
we really enjoyed sitting on our balcony.
There was so much to see and do on the ship.
One could be busy and engaged all day long.
We were travelling with my husband's family
so we wanted to interact with them as much as possible.
We did not attend many of the entertainment options.
We walked many laps around the deck.
With so much delicious food on offer we needed to be mindful!!
Cocktails
Gala dinner
Let's start with some escargots.
a tossed green salad
Succulent lamb chops
Chocolate souffle
You can eat like this every evening if you desire.
There are casual venues where they make burgers, hot dogs, and pizza.
The Lido Market was buffet style
offering
various salads, pastas, sandwiches, soups, and a variety of daily specials.
There are also some higher end dining options where you pay extra to dine.
We dined at the Italian themed Canaletto and Tamarind which served Asian Fusion cuisine.
The Tamarind was my favourite meal of the trip.
Juneau Alaska
We were travelling with other cruise ships.
About 4 or 5 ships were in each port
the small towns were inundated with tourists.
The Holland America Line was recommended to us
in particular the refurbished ship Nieuw Amsterdam
we were suitably impressed.
A popular spot to sample Alaska King and Dungeness Crab.
Mr HB loves crab!
Heritage buildings in Juneau
I was surprised by how many jewelry shops dotted the streets.
Apparently many people buy jewelry as a souvenir when they go on a cruise.
I'll be back with more on the cruise soon so please stay tuned!

Beautiful photos! I am so glad you had a good time. The ship we cruised on was still doing Alaska when you were cruising. I wonder if you saw Seabourn Sojourn in any of your ports. We loved Juneau. I look forward to your next post about your voyage.
I am so glad you had a good time:).
Sounds like a wonderful trip. Susan
It sounds like you had a wonderful time. I enjoyed the IG posts and now this summary post. I'm glad you had good weather for the trip.
I'm glad you've had a wonderful time and I enjoy your post. Looking forward to another one. Alaska and Alaska cruise is something so distant ,something I would never see and it is so interesting to hear about it from you

Thank you for sharing your lovely photos. I know many people who have taken the Alaskan cruises, but have not seen pictures before. Juneau looks really pretty, and very small, tucked in there beside the mountain. How curious that people buy jewellery; I think I would be looking for something ethnic to the region. The interior of the ship and meals look very glamourous, and I like the encouraging sign to do laps around the ship :)
Sounds like a great trip. When we were in Juneau we were told that the cruise lines own the jewelry stores. Guess that's not a surprise.
What a wonderful adventure and oh my...the food!
We really enjoyed our Alaskan cruise last year. And yes, guilty of buying jewelry at one of those shops in Juneau!
Thank you for sharing you photos. I was surprised that Juneau looks like a small town. I always thought things were bigger in Alaska! ;)) Alaska is on our travel list but we will be heading to the Maritimes in the fall for the honeymoon we never got around to having 30+ years ago! Carol in VT
It looks like a very relaxing trip, and beautiful. I'm so glad you had a good time.
I think we did see that ship!
We were not sure that a cruise ship would agree with us because we have been boating most of our lives but this is a much posher way to see the sights, and I am not the galley slave!
It was very enjoyable and getting back to reality has been an adjustment!
The weather was amazing...I was concerned that we would have stormy seas but they were like a mill pond most of the time.
I'll post more for you to see D.
A lot of NZ and Australians go on this cruise. It seems very popular and we met quite a few who had made the trek and were very happy that they did! The ethnic pieces were really tempting! So many beautiful items but we have so little room for more things that we just admired them !
Oh now that is an interesting tidbit! That makes sense...
Oh YES! the food...it was scrumptious.
Oh what a tasteful souvenir to wear and remind you of your cruise.
The otowns are small...so quaint and unique.
Alaska is a big state but most of it is prisitine natural...that is what we saw on the coast..I am sure there are larger cities in other areas.
Relaxing is exactly what we did onboard. Fun with my husband's family too!
