My hair has more silver tinsel these days...
I like the effect and its natural!
You may notice that my cheeks are still swollen from the YAG laser treatment.
The capillaries that were zapped are red but will fade in the coming weeks.
I still may need a few more treatments to get on top of the issue.
Brunch at The Surly Mermaid in Sidney.
The "best ever" Eggs Benedict
they make it with a thin biscuit and served it with truffle potatoes.

Mr. HB enjoyed the Korean BBQ chicken wings.
What a feast!
Driftwood Beach artist has expanded her work with the bird installation.
Sadly, her whale tail sculpture was stolen a few weeks ago...
who would do such a thing?
Last week the weather was been particularly warm
almost hot...
today it has cooled to about 12 degrees Celsius.
I am reading Educated by Tara Westover
it's a memoir...
often disturbing.
I am finding it difficult to put down.
Hope that your week is off to a great start.
Thank you for stopping by The Humble Bungalow Blog.

Educated is my next assigned reading for book club. It sounds interesting but unsettling. I'm having an at home day today. I'm reading a book that you might like. It's called Cooking for Picasso. It's set in St Juan des Pins on the Riviera and our heroine is attending cooking school.
It's light but it might be fun as a pre-travel read. That brunch looks so good! Sidney is such a great little town to visit. I have a friend who divides her time between there and Saltspring. We haven't visited for a while. Your longer hair with the tinsel is very becoming.
I read Cooking for Picasso a few years ago and enjoyed it. Your friend has the best of both worlds SSI and Sidney are lovely places. I love perusing the galleries and shops on SSI. Mouats has lovely clothes for women and there is an exclusive shop near the Pharmacy in Ganges that carries wonderful imported linens and sumptuous designs...very expensive but worth a look!
Educated was a fascinating book, so compelling but in places difficult to read. I have recommended it to so many people along with The Library, another fine book.
The food in both pictures looks delicious!
I have not heard of The Library I will look it up thank you Adrienne. What are you currently reading?
YOUR LOOKING GREAT CHUBBY CHECKS AND STRIPES!MY GARDEN IS UP ON THE BLOG THIS WEEK IF YOU WANT TO HOP OVER!PLEASE DO!
Your red shoes are fabulous-they make me smile every time you post the photo. Treatment seems excellent...
Educated was such an emotional, poignant and hard to believe book-it stays with you,the questions.....long after reading, actually, still are.
I'm reading Alice Walker's The Colour Purple, it is an old book and I'm sure you've read it decades ago... (and seen the film)
The book I've just finished is a mystery written by Charles Finch: A Beautiful Blue Death,it is the first in Charles Lenox series, maybe too easy, but it has some charming moments

Great post.
I just ordered Cooking for Picasso from the library after reading the comments here. We've enjoyed the Surly Mermaid's fish tacos for lunch - yummy! You look great!
Hope you enjoy the book!
I had their fish tacos last summer and they were delicious! It’s a lovely spot for a bite to eat.
Love your outfit - I own very similar pieces! I have decided to let my grey hair grow out and so far so good. I've actually received a lot of compliments but I do think that the excellent cut has a lot to do with it.
I agree that "Educated" was tough going in parts - but stick with it. It is an amazing story and really illustrates the power of an education. Her understanding, compassion and ability to forgive is also very powerful. I swear, if I have to read one more whiny - poor me memoir for my book club I'm going to refer everyone to this book!
"The Library" is also on my list to read.
I finished Tara Westover's memoir and it was quite the story! Amazing that she was able to pull herself up and out from the dysfunctionality of her family.
A good hairdresser is almost as important as a family doctor! A great haircut is critical and it makes you feel so much more pulled together when it suits you, you can enjoy all the compliments!!!
NYDJ usually have a name. Do these boyfriend jeans? My favourites are old and soft and almost worn out. I’ve never seen them make this style again.
Love those shoes too.
Julie Anne
They are called boyfriend jeans! So comfy and soft now that I have worn them for several years.
