Linen frock...rosacea update and flowers...

I bought a new frock this week...
it is linen, made in Italy.

Stripes of navy and white

The back detail
cool, loose and floaty.

The perfect kind of dress for the hot days we are currently experiencing.
Add flip flops and a sun hat and I am good to go.

Heat and cold are rosacea triggers so I am trying very hard to keep my temperature variations to a minimum.

Further update on the rosacea flare up...

It has been a month since I had the laser treatment.
The skin on my face is not quite so red
but there are visible broken capillaries.

I went back for a follow up visit yesterday and had another session with the YAG laser.

I was advised to start using a medical grade serum.
The serum targets inflammation, weak blood vessels and redness.

It is expensive but so are the laser treatments.
If the results are as good as the technician claims I will be satisfied.

Today my face is puffy and pink where the nurse/technician targeted the laser.
Nothing so severe that I would need to stay cocooned indoors.
I put on mineral sunscreen and headed out for a walk with my hat and sunglasses.

Enjoyed a long lunch with some girlfriends.

Later this afternoon
I hand watered the garden and took some pictures to share with you.

Hope you have a lovely weekend and to all the Moms
Happy Mothers Day!

I just love your garden! Thank you so much for sharing the wonderful pictures with us. Here in Ontario our gardens are so far behind because of the rain and cool weather. I love your new linen dress.

Oh how I love lily of the valley! On the two occasions we went to Canada in the Springtime, I kept picking and photographing those sweet little blooms. Your dress is gorgeous, just perfect for the Summer heat, and one I would have in a heartbeat. It will look fabulous when you are at the Cottage by the Sea!

All best wishes for your rosacea treatment - would be interested to know how the serum pans out! There's a really good, but relatively inexpensive Korean SPF 42 mineral makeup from MISSHA which applies like a dream, no shiny sunscreen look, just perfect smooth medium cover, like buttah! Would like to know what you currently like to use.
Your garden looks just beautiful, we in Ontario lust over it, as we emerge, weary and beaten from a long hard winter and a spring with many hiccups in it.

Love the dress !! LOVE it. Also love hostas, alas here in Houston we cannot grow them unless in deep shade somewhere because of our HEAT. You are talking about heat in your area. I cannot imagine it being HOT there! Big hug, my friend.

I am always a bit envious of the plants that you are able to grow. Everything looks beautiful

Love your new dress too.

I like your dress. I have discovered an Italian brand Angela Mara that produces floaty linen clothes. Your garden looks beautiful. I spent 2 hours gardening today but there are so many untended areas. The mature plants are lovely but there is so much weeding and watering to be done. Your rosacea treatment sounds as though it was effective. Maybe the serum will help. skin care is so important as we get older.

Thank you Ms.Liz in Ontario!
Generally speaking the west coast gardens are ahead of those back east and we have had exceptionally warm sunny weather which is both good and bad...the gardens are lovely but we already have forest fires burning in our province. I will share more of our garden as the weeks go by...hope you will pop back and visit again soon.

I have worn the dress twice and it is a very cool choice for the warmer weather. I forgot that I had a pair of blue suede sandals too which I can wear with the dress and my sunhat!
The lily of the valley has such a strong fragrance that a few blooms can scent an entire room! I popped some in our bathroom.
Hope you had a wonderful Mother’s Day or do you celebrate it at a different day to our May Mothering Sunday?

Found your new blog post and am very glad that you are back!
Your travel wardrobe looks amazing! And the trip will be fabulous.

The serum absorbs quickly and I only use 3 drops...it should last a few months. My facial mineral sunscreen is in my mineral make up by La Bella Donna and for the rest of my body I use Avene sunscreen with a 60 spf rating.
Hoping that your weather is warming up and soon flowers will bloom to welcome you to Spring and Summer.
Thank you for your comment 💐

Our temperature last week was up to 26 or 28 Celsius which feels hot to me! Not Houston hot but hot for Victoria. Hostas love shade and they would definitely not thrive in your climate. It amazed me that jade plants grow outdoors down south and Daturas too...so many beautiful varieties grow in your area.

And I am envious of many of the plants that grow in California!!!
We can admire each other’s gardens from a distance 💐

I have a dress by Angela Mara! I bought it when I returned from France in 2015. Many if the women in the small village of Auvillar were wearing linen dresses from Italy and they looked so cool in the heat.
I am happy with the serum so far and the pores on my nose have actually tightened up and are not as noticeable which is great. It’s hard to tell yet if my skin is less pink as I still am slightly swollen and the capillaries that we’re targeted by the laser have yet to be absorbed into my system. It can take several weeks for them to disappear. Gardening is great exercise and I find it rewarding too...gardening with others would be a wonderful way to be social...mine is a solo effort and permits me to meditate while out in nature.

Thank you Dottoressa. Wide, fluid and floaty frocks allow the breeze to keep us cool in the heat!!

The garden is full on and the roses are in bud! Will be sharing them with you soon.
Have you moved into your new place yet?
