OOTD...Blues from France and Britain

One of my recent outfits
is a mix of makers...
one from France and the other from the UK.

I cannot say enough about the Saint James brand of clothing...
I absolutely LOVE their clothes.

The skirt is a smidgen above my knees
which is fine by me.
I wear opaque tights and the black Chelsea boots

I like the mix of textures...

I could wear my pearls for a more classic look.

or
wear this twill scarf
which was Mom's

or
this Swiss Vetter silk scarf
that I found at the thrift shop.

If I was feeling adventurous
I'd buy a bright yellow pair of tights and amp up the colour story.

This Saint James top has weight to it...
which makes it warm on its' own
or
on colder days it can be worn under my puffy blue down vest.
It marries well with my jeans too.

The skirt is an oldie but a goodie...

I've been trying to play around more with accessories.
They really make getting dressed feel a lot more creative.

Do you mix up what you wear or tend to stick with the same pairing of outfits.

There are blue skies above and it is a gorgeous sunny day out so I wil close for now and wish you all a wonderful weekend.

Gosh, I love that top. And it looks great with any of those scarves. I am a "mixer" as well.

Both of your scarves are stunning, and must look great with this outfit. Of course, it is lovely with the pearls too. I like to mix around my outfits, try for different looks as the whim takes me. Looking forward to cooler weather so I can wear scarves again.

This is a perfect outfit I LOVE it. You have such beautiful scarves to pair with it too and of course the pearls are so charming with it. That Saint James top is beautiful, I too am a big fan of the brand. Their clothes last forever and it's so wonderful that they still make them in France. I'm putting together a colour story today featuring an ecru and dark red striped Saint James top. You're so right too, scarves look amazing with their stripey tops! xxx

I really like that look! I'm transitioning from grey now and navy is a wonderful neutral. It's fresh looking and yellow adds a pop. I am about the accessories because they dress up basic pieces. For some reason, I've worn few scarves this winter. Do you buy your St. James in Sidney or at WJ Wilson? I have a favourite Breton shirt from France but it is 5 years old so I might need to replace it soon. Enjoy the sunshine!

I love St. James, a great brand of clothing. No, I don't really change much. I wear jeans, a top (depending on weather) and shoes (also weather dependent) virtually everyday. I really did a big wardrobe cull about 2-3 years ago because I found I was wearing just the above daily. I don't mind, it makes getting dressed a whole lot easier and most importantly, I feel like "me". That scarf that was your mom's, is absolutely gorgeous!

That looks like a great outfit. Do you buy the Saint James pieces locally? Or online? I tried a web search but couldn't find anything about local stores carrying that brand? If online, can you comment on sizing?
Thank you

Looking for some pops of colour as Spring is on its way!!

Oh there are a lot of grey and black classic pieces in the closet...blues too.
I don't wear a lot of bright colours anymore. I used to wear mustard yellow and lime green!!!

Mixing it up makes a small wardrobe feel much bigger and I like to see new and unexpected combinations too...

Well I might not go that far...but I do appreciate your compliment! :-))

Their prices are up there but the quality is fabulous and they last many many years..with lots of wear. I have had this top for at least two years...

Mom's scarf goes so well with the top...yes to a pop of yellow...wouldn't the tights be a fun injection of colour?

We are fortunate to have several stores here that sell Saint James...its a joy to browse their new styles...perhaps online shopping might work? I know that there is a website for their clothes in Canada.

Mixing up our clothes and pairing them with different accessories allows us to have fewer pieces and that way we can splurge on a pricier garment...the Cost Per Wearing factors into all my purchases.

I remember that you and I have the Saint James raincoat too...the mariniere knit tops are sturdy and wear well....I also have their striped black and white V neck top which is in a jersey weight that pairs well with my pants and skirts.
Have fun with your colour story Dani! Hope that you are over that nasty flu.

I purchase my Saint James at both the Sidney Baden Baden Boutique and the W7J Wilson stores...the v neck top that I paid full prive for last year was on sale at half price this winter at Wilsons...I love to see Saint James sales too...but they rarely have my size. Good luck with your hunt for the new striped marinere.

Finding a personal style of dressing makes sense, its much quicker in the morning...just decide what adjustments might be needed due to the weather...
I am following Linda V Wright now in Paris and I am really enjoying her IG posts...I think I found her via your feed so thank you!

I buy the Saint James line at W&J Wilson and Baden Baden Boutique in Sidney...both have a great selection...I find their sizing smallish but I have an ample bust and dont think a lot of French companies cater to this issue...so I have to go up a size. I am surprised that Vancouver doesn't have a shop that carries the line...you may have to hop on the ferry and go to Sidney...there is a bus that you can catch at the ferry that will drop you in Sidney and all the shops are easy walking distance...let me know if you plan to come over!

I consider that the blues to be a neutral in my wardrobe...one could invite more blue...and I may if I see some great pieces but I am quite content with what I already own.

I love the top Leslie! I have two Saint James t-shirts (both navy and white striped..) one long sleeved and the other short sleeved. I've found them to be very useful!

Stripes are such an enegetic print to wear...as a person who avoids patterns they work much better for me. I love the French marinere tops too...very versatile.
