our darling daughter and her fiancee will be married...
Married!
Such a joyous occasion to stand before each other
in a beautiful setting by the sea
to pledge their love and future years together
as husband and wife.
The Humble Bungalow Kitchen
looks like a flower shop.
Hey Jude!
Thank you for your timely blooms...
I was worried that this stellar David Austin rose "Jude the Obscure" would have finished flowering
as it has been going steady since early May.
We also ordered flowers from our favourite shop Thorn and Thistle Flowers
so there are going to be two bouquets.
One for the actual ceremony and one for the photos.
~ a simple garden bouquet for the bride ~
~ a boutonniere for the groom ~
The Humble Bungalow Kitchen
was in need of tidying by the time I had finished arranging all the flowers.
Putting together floral arrangements and bouquets over the years
for special events and parties has been fun.
Flowers play such a big part in my life.
Growing them in the garden and arranging them in vases and posies
has been a rewarding and creative endeavour.
Flowers add such beauty and ambiance to a home.
I cannot imagine life without flowers...
The wee library on our street is a great source of books
the neighbours read quite a lot and they drop off and exchange novels
with great regularity.
"Sisters" by Claire Douglas sounds like a good read...
It will need to wait until after
I finish Elin Hilderbrand's novel "The Island"
which I am enjoying immensely...
This morning I whipped around the house and got all my chores done then I took myself out for a long walk to get some fresh air and exercise.
The sights and sounds were just what I needed.
While I was walking I got several texts and photos from darling daughter taken at the service.
The weather co-operated with oodles of blue sky and loads of sunshine
Such a beautiful day for their ceremony.
Next time I see our darling daughter she will be married!

Congratulations to the happy couple. And what gorgeous flowers - you are very talented. I'm sure they were much appreciated
Lovely flowers! It's great that the weather improved for the elopement ceremony.
I really do think you are remarkably talented with flowers. And congratulations! to your daughter, her new husband, and the families.
Beautiful bouquet and boutonniere! I wish the new husband and wife every joy!
The wonderful Jude the Obscure is perfection for a wedding. The bouquet is absolutely beautiful, and very natural. You are gifted in floral artistry. Congratulations to all!
Glorious flowers and such a natural looking bouquet, really beautiful. And what a very tidy kitchen you have, I love the tray with all that you need on it, plus decorative items, such as the flowers and what looks like a bowl of pebbles (I presume on which to stand soap). I don't have space on a counter top for so many items on a tray and keep all the kitchen implements in the cupboard below the sink until each is required, but your tray looks delightful, and colour-co-ordinated.

What a truly lovely post 💞
Congratulations to the newlywed couple and their happy families.
Your floristry is perfection, Leslie, and I think I have a bit of a crush on that Jude rose, it is amazing. Does it have much of a perfume?

Best wishes! I love your petite Thingfinder and her handsome man with the kind eyes!
Lovely flowers! Congratulations to the newly married couple! Many happy years wished to them!
Congratulations to your daughter and her husband! How wonderful! My youngest is getting married in Oct., and I had hoped for an elopement, but they have chosen to have a smallish wedding. Your flowers look beautiful, as always. I can't wait to see photos from their ceremony. Enjoy your lunch with your married daughter!

I used to hide all these things away in a drawer but decided to leave them out for convenience...I tend to like to have clean counter tops as our kitchen is quite small...it is nice to change things up now and again.
The perfume is intoxicating...slightly citrus and very full bodied...heady in fact.
Thank you all for your comments...I have been very busy these past few days...will try to get a blog post together soon!
Our kitchen is small, too, just 16ft by 9ft and we have a breakfast table in that space, too. But by the time there is the bread bin on the work surface, and the toaster, and the kettle, and a bowl for the teaspoons, plus a mixer and a few other essential things, such as bananas and tomatoes (not suitable for the fridge), there is little space for cleaning thing. But I love your various black and white and lime green accessories, such a wonderful colour combination.

Sorry to be late with my congratulations but they are heart felt. I remember the joy when our only daughter married. They now have the delicious Elyssa, the love of our lives.
