Tulip mania courtesy of Butchart Gardens...

I've been busy here in The Humble Bungalow with little time spent on the computer.
So posting here on the blog has been rather spartan.
Today
I am sharing a lush group of tulips
seen on my recent walk at Butchart Gardens.
I hope you will enjoy seeing the pictures.

Tulips are in full bloom at Butchart Gardens.

Pretty in pink...

Pink on Pink
Tulips and masses of pink forget-me-nots.

A striking combination of colour.

Frilly feathery fringed tulips.

Close up

A painterly mixture of tulips.

We wandered through the gardens and enjoyed the bold colourful planted beds.

Many others, like us, masked up and delighted in the beauty of the gardens.

We sat outside after our walk and had a cold drink and a wee bite of lunch.

It felt like we were on holiday.

Hope that you are enjoying your weekend.

I haven't been to Butcharts in decades! My grandmother used to row her boat over to the Butchart's dock when she was a little girl, and hang out with Jenny Butchart in the gardens.

The tulips are astounding! I'm glad you're getting out and enjoying this amazing sunshine, L!

Beautiful! I love Butchart Gardens. My goal is to go during all of the seasons. Alas, I live in California and have a daughter still in school, so I have only managed to get there during spring breaks and summers. Last year we were planning to try for more trips but, you know... Maybe Christmas time this year. My daughter finally got her first vaccination so the world will be opening up again! Hopefully. We love Victoria in general and there is more I would like to see. In the meantime I live vicariously through your blog! Thanks!

Thank you for the photographs. It was so brightening as I am in a lockdown and its dreary!

Oh my goodness, those tulips are absolutely gorgeous! What a treat!
Spent the day planting some herbs and seeds.
Nature is so therapeutic!!!

The sunshine has been such a tonic...lovely days to be outdoors and enjoy the warmth. The Gardens have been my go to for the past year and a half...having an annual pass makes it affordable entertainment. I just renewed my pass and am looking forward to seeing the roses in bloom on the next visit.

I cannot believe how tall their tulips grow! Some must be 2 feet tall!

My pleasure! :-))

When the borders reopen The Gardens will be welcoming visitors from near and far...I understand that they have been struggling financially without the low number of visitors but it is a Canadian National Heritage site so there must be some kind of funding available to them. Victoria usually has so many tourists and the hotels are offering good rates for local to have a staycation. It shouldn't be much too longer once we have achieved community immunity. Sounds like vaccination passports are going to permit people to travel.

Lockdown is hard on people but it does help control the number of cases. Take care and stay safe. Glad to hear that you enjoyed seeing the photos.

Staycations are fun...many local hotels are offering special rates and dining deals for locals. We haven't booked anything but my sister and I plan to go to the Oak Bay Beach Hotel for a spa treatment and a swim in the outdoor pool maybe early in June
