Keep Calm and Carry On...3 weeks of outfits!

Trying very hard to keep calm...to sleep and to breathe.

The excitement is building and there are not that many more sleeps before Julie and I depart on our adventure in Italy and France.

This week I kept busy with friends, reading and walking.

I enjoyed a relaxing pedicure at the Willow King Spa and chose a bright red shade of polish for my toes...I am packing sandals as the weather in Rome and Tuscany looks hotter than I expected.

Merrell sandals super comfy for long walks
Clark Chelsea Boots and New Balance trainers.

Rain jacket and yoga pants for the bike ride to the vineyard in Tuscany
They may come in handy for the fishing trip on the Tyrrhenian Sea.

Eileen Fisher top and jeans.
Cashmere sweater

I plan to wear this on the plane with the Clark Chelsea boots.

Eileen Fisher jacket
"Sunken Garden"scarf from Butchart Gardens gift shop here in Victoria.
Hedgren lightweight Cross body bag.

Nyan crinkle dress
Eileen Fisher top and black rayon pants

Tencel chambray shirt which I can layer over the tees and tops.

Camisole and crinkly top which can be worn together with black pants or jeans.

Lingerie, capri leggings, socks, nightie, and a swimsuit.
It all fits in the carry on and there is a bit of room to spare!

I am taking the Longchamp bag as my accessory item.

I packed a similar amount of clothing in 2015 when I went to Paris and France.
Minimalistic carry on wardrobes are easier to pack than you might think.
If we encounter snow I will need to do some shopping!
Hope that the weather will be as forecast and I will purchase something fun in Paris...

It's a beautiful sunny Autumn day here in The Humble Bungalow.
Hope you are enjoying your weekend.

BTW
Have you seen the Downton Abbey film yet?

It's wonderful, a fabulous story line and the return of the original characters makes it a pure delight.

I cannot imagine going to Europe with only a carry-on! Brava to you, my friend. The Longchamp will also serve well as a shopping bag, I love these nylon ones. It is the rainy season now, but it's a Camelot rain, not thunderstorms, so even if it's raining you'll be fine. Take a hat. I am absolutely addicted to my Gucci baseball cap (gift from girlfriends), and it doesn't matter if hair is done or not. Also scarves. I love the oblong ones, but anything to use for cover or fashion accents. You are going to have so much fun !!! I'm jealous. However, not of a bike ride or fishing ha ha ha.

Your Longchamp bag is the same one my daughter has and it was definitely the workhorse for her for her month long trip to Korea. Hope you have a great time!

Love the wardrobe, just a quick question, did you wear your jeans & boots on the plane? Your photo just shows the top, scarf & bag? Did I miss something, apologies if so

Just got back and am up early after a great sleep in our renovated bedroom. I wore everything multiple times with the exception of the swimsuit as the outdoor pools were not heated!!! Will post on the blog soon.

Our trip was amazing...have many many tidbits to share and memories to last a lifetime.

Black jersey is so wonderful to pack! Not a wrinkle in sight and so versatile! You’ve got to love those basic core items.

The carry on is light and easy to manage through airports customs and cobblestones!
The bike ride was really a challenge...20 km and I had not ridden in several decades!!! The boat trip was a slice of heaven...sunny, seas calm and turquoise water! and the caves!!! They caught Fish too...a story for a future blog post and I will work on it in the next few weeks.

I am not really a seasoned traveller unless you count boating and the weeks at the cottage using my large Lands’ End tote! Packing for 3 weeks in Europe is much more of a challenge. Sue at “une femme” has great packing advice...and Pinterest has great info. It’s easy when others have successfully paved the way!

I wore all but the bathing suit...outdoor pools were not heated! But I wore the rest multiple times and managed to wash items by hand. Will post more in the next few weeks.

It was a lovely trip!
The clothes I packed worked really well...layers are key when living out of a carry on for 3 weeks!

Back home now...will share snippets and pictures in the weeks to come.

I highly recommend the Longchamp bag. Mine is the medium size...Air France has strict guidelines for accessory items so I was mindful of the weight restrictions and purchased a scale to make sure I was complying.

Italy and France did not disappoint! Am safely home now sitting in my Morris Chair sipping my early morning coffee and counting my blessings and planning to share highlights on the blog soon.

I did wear my jeans and boots on the flight over. I wore the Nyan crinkle dress with leggings and the Chelsea boots on the way home. It’s a very Boho look and the dress is heavier than my jeans. I needed to balance out the weight of my luggage as I purchased a few items on the trip...we checked our bags for the flight home.
