Riotous Roses in The Humble bungalow Garden...Home Sweet Home!

Fragrant mauve phlox, a volunteer plant in our garden.
Roses on the arbour...

Constance Spry and Paul's Lemon Pillar climbing Roses intertwined together
a marriage that gets better every year.

I've got loads of deadheading to do...
and I plan to pick a bouquet to bring indoors.

We have been away on a road trip to Cranbrook BC this past week
to meet up with family for a celebration of life.
It was a great opportunity to enjoy the beautiful scenery of BC...
we rarely travel long distances by car
as we usually fire up the Sea Ray and head out on The Salish Sea...
or catch the ferry to our cottage.

We are home,
the cats are happy
they have been tended by a  house and cat sitter
and
we are nestled into our comfy sofas.

Happy to be HOME!

Hope you have enjoyed seeing the garden roses...
they keep us busy but they do provide us with an amazing display....
and their fragrance is intoxicating.

People stop and sniff the blooms out front when they walk by our bungalow!

So glorious. I just picked two huge bouquets of white roses, deadheaded them all, and put down Epsom salts. Hoping for a June rebloom. And I think you were the one who told me Epson salts:).

Beautiful roses! We haven't had much warmth further north so ours haven't started to bloom yet. The scent must be lovely.

I seem to recall mentioning the Epsom Salts!
Your bouquet of white roses must be lovely...I remember that your created a white garden...we purchased 4 white rose plants by David Austin...named Claire Austin after his daughter...they are just coming into bloom and are exquisite.

The roses are fragrant and if you stand close you can be enveloped with their scent. My thoughts are that any rose grown in a garden should have a fragrance...

Oh "fountains of flowers" is such an evocative phrase....love it!

Oh yes, how I HAVE enjoyed today's peek at your delightful garden of roses. I can almost smell them!
I've had my garden blitzed this past week,(intentional!) and am now thinking of the replanting to be done. I definitely want more roses so your post pics are inspirational. Thanks for sharing. Hugs, x.

Love this time of year when I have bouquet of roses and other blooms from my garden in almost every room of the house. Your gorgeous roses and volunteer phloxes...bountiful and beautiful. I for one love volunteer plants. They can be planted in another part of the garden or pulled out depending on what kind and space available. Glad you're home safely from your trip. Amelia

It’s lovely having flowers in the house and every room what a gift! The joys of gardening are the bounty of blooms.

Once a month spread a cup of Epsom salts around the base of the roses water well. They love it...

Just beautiful, those roses! I would love to have climbing, fragrant roses like Constance Spry, but question whether I can in Wisconsin.

I have constance spry, alnwick castle, olivia austin, and two more i forget their names but they give me joy but they just finished their first flush. Your roses look absolutely marvellous!

You might need to do some research on the roses that are best suited for the Wisconsin growing zone...there must be roses that would thrive in your area.

Roses, especially the David Austin varieties, are very hardy and the flowers are stunning. My newest rose is a DA called Jubilee Celebration it is pink and delicately perfumed...now I am wondering what rose will be next in our garden!!!
