That's a lovely colour of lipstick! You've got a nice "smokey eye" going there as well. I'm off to track meet day ay school. The Grade 3-7's are at zone and the primaries are having a mini-meet. I've rediscovered some coral jeans and a top from France and I'm feeling a little
"sporty".

Yes to the red shoes (and red lip) with the black and white. Very chic.
BTW I LOVE your glasses. The frames are so unusual, but in a subtle way--they aren't like everybody else, yet they aren't so out there that we only see the glasses and not you.

black and white was my easy travel wardrobe theme on my recent waco, texas trip (magnolia/fixerUpper/etc). a small carry on luggage piece and easy choices. love yours. and the red lippystick. and that art piece.. love the lines.

Black and white with a touch of red is always a good choice. You are looking wonderful! I am looking for the perfect black and white top and may have found it ....I'm still in the contemplation stage of the purchase. My weekend? A fashion show on Saturday and the symphony on Sunday - out of myjeans and into something a little more downtown!

First of all, thank you so much for the mention, and so happy you're enjoying your painting.
The lipstick is very good on you, and I think that Chanel's formula is very perfect for somewhat aging lips. It's hydrating and just enough shine. The color is so good on you, excellent choice - I'll be trying that one the next time I'm in a shop.

Love, love love the outfit and lipstick color -- looks very good on you.
Wearing my Josef Seibel ballet flats today, too, in black. I find the quilted-and-bow style to be a little more comfortable, but drooling over your happy red shoes.

This is a chic look for you!

You have given me an outfit idea! I have the Saint James shirt (but in navy), I have the Barbour vest (but in navy), and I even have an Hermes scarf with navy! All I am missing is the cute red flats! Thank you Hostess!

Black and white-always nice, especially with the red accent
The Chanel Coco Rouge Emilienne suits you perfect-I wear the same, only in another colour: 440 Arthur (as the first coat and usually cover it with Chanel Coco Stylo in Histoire ,for the summer)
I will go out for two dinners (tomorrow and on Saturday),celebrating two birthdays

The glasses are Face a Face from Paris!
I was smitten with them as soon as I saw them and fortunately the technician said they would fit!

Your blog readers are holding their breath...while we await further details....on the Waco Magnolia event!

Oh sounds like you have almost scooped up the top...striped tops feel "very French" when I wear one.
Enjoy your weekend sounds like fun.

I looked at the lipstick shade that you purchased and it didn't suit me as well as this one...good to know that there were quite a few that were possible candidates.
Your latest paintings are so beautiful!!

Thanks Leslie. I had gone to the Chanel counter before meeting a friend for lunch at the store. Afterwards, she went to try the same lipstick on and it looked like a different color on her - completely different. But she's olive toned. I have a feeling yours might work on me too.

hostess of the humble bungalow said...

Oh what fun! Kathy inspired me to buy new lipstick and you've been inspired here today...win win!

I did not see that shade when I was at the Chanel counter but I must look next time I am there...have a lovely weekend celebrating those birthdays and your dinners out.

Thank you Rosie...

No I didn't Ali, I purchased the frames locally from Maycock Optical...they import frames from France as they are quite popular.

I love all the black and white, your lovely new piece of art, and your new lipstick is very becoming.

You look lovely in black and white with the red lipstick. It's a great shade. This weekend I don't have too much planned. Hopefully some time in the garden, and we may take the boat out on Sunday.

Poppy Q said...

Black and grey are my faves too. I do like your striped top - it suits you very much.

Thank you Jeannine! We quite love Kathy's new painting and I like the new ones that she is currently working on...if I had a bigger home with more wall space I'd be sorely tempted to add to the collection.

Let's hope the weather is good for gardening...there is an Artists' Studio Tour in Fairfield this weekend so I may po into a few on my walks.
A Sunday cruise sounds like a great idea! There is a floating boat show at The Port of Sidney too!

Black and grey are shades that are so basic and versatile...I am in the process of swapping out my winter clothes for some summer ones. It takes me a few days to get this done but I like seeing the white linens from last year hanging in the closet!

I think that I could live forever in black, white & red - love your outfit!
That is actually my favourite lipstick - however, I'm boycotting Chanel at the moment as I've been completely ignored (as in I'm somehow invisible) on my last two visits - that was enough!

La Vie Quotidienne said...

What a pretty, bright lipstick color. It really adds a pop to the black and whites in your wardrobe. My weekend is being spent in the garden, I am still trying to catch up with all of the weeds!

hostess of the humble bungalow said...

Ah I know that feeling...I had a similar experience at Talbots! I was invisible to all the staff!! That reflects badly on the company when their clerks ignore potential customers...hope they smarten up and that you can give them a second chance!

hostess of the humble bungalow said...

Thank you Adrienne!
Those weeds are quite determined...here too, they multiply almost as fast as we pull them out. Enjoy pottering in the garden this weekend.

Love your outfit with red shoes! But - I have SERIOUS spectacle envy. I look at your blog most days and love your photographs that you share. The floral and scenic ones are beautiful and always raise my mood. Thank you.
