What a difference a day makes...OOTD

What a difference a day makes...24 little hours.

This was the view on my walk yesterday.
Dallas Road bathed in warm sunshine and not a breath of wind.

Calm seas ~ still reeds ~ Peace and Quiet

A lone sailboat on the horizon towards Port Angeles and Port Townsend in Washington State.

I passed only a handful of walkers.

There is evidence that Fall is here but with yesterday's spectacular weather one truly wonders...

The mums are about to burst forth and bloom.
~ But ~
I spoke too soon as
there is a distinct chill in the morning air.
One that requires an extra layer of wool...

~ OOTD ~
Black Merino Tee ~ Cloudveil is topped with a black woolly sweater vest ~ Zara
Denim skinny jeans ~ g21
I 'm loving this shawl collared style vest which allows me freedom to move about
yet provides me with warmth to my core.

It's the perfect day for a comforting bowl of hot soup

and a chance to plan the menu for the Thanksgiving Feast!

Walking today I'm going to need to wear my Barbour quilted jacket.

Hope that you are all Keeping  cozy!

I was just complaining this morning to a client that none of the Thanksgiving issues are out yet! Glad to know of at least one. I was working on a thanksgiving prep themed post this afternoon. Loving the fall weather! Our leaves don't seem too stunning this year

Something in the air has changed today - it's definitely cooler and sweaters are welcome. Your shawl collar is very flattering. I planned our Thanksgiving menu last night. Not too difficult since we have many of the same things from year to year. But it's always nice to add a new dish or two.

Our Canadian Thanksgiving is earlier than your American celebration so perhaps that is why the magazines are not out yet. I noticed that Ellie from the blog "have some decorum" has her Thanksgiving cookbook for sale...our leaves are changing but slowly.
Did you buy the new car you wanted and how is Barbie doing?

I'm planning a variety of dishes this year...salmon, prime rib, lots of veggie dishes and mac n cheese for the wee ones!

Your pictures reminded every of a fabulous local artist named Ron parker. He has done many paintings of Dallas road. I view his work in the lovely Avenue gallery . They have sonics great art in there!

Such beautiful Autumn colours ... including your lipstick, the shade really suits you! Such an inspiring place to walk. I can close my eyes and imagine walking along the coastline!
Your soup looks tempting too .. I m off to make some! Very wet and miserable here today. Some tasty soup is just what we need!
Enjoy the rest of your week.

Wonderful pictures! I always enjoy seeing photos from your walks, as they are places I go with Karsten, Diana and Lucy when I'm over visiting them. Chillier fall weather is in the air here as well. Don't you love those merino shirts? I wear them on their own in the fall, then use them for layering all winter.

Great outfit! Our air just changed a few days ago. Not coat weather, but vests and wraps. I love this time if year!

Darn auto correct. They have such great art (and jewellery, ceramics and sculptures) there.)

My leather jacket came out today against the chilly wind. The leaves are turning here and the hostas are drooping ready to hide for the Winter. Time to get the sweaters out of storage! Yet again stunning photos. Love this blog.

Dear Hostess,

Visiting your blog after a long hiatus, I can't imagine how I happened to stay away so long. Every one of your posts, and your beautiful photographs, feels like a gift to me. Thank you so much.

Hi Rosie, I hope you enjoyed your soup.
Soup is a fall and winter staple here...it's chill chasing qualities make it a perfect meal!

I DO love the Merino tees...so cozy and they are reasonably priced too. They pair nicely with my quilted vests too...then I just add a scarf for a pop of colour and texture.

Ah but you have that warmth of the Arizona sunshine...many Canadian seniors fly to your state for the winter and love it there!

It's a foggy morning here...I'm sure that you remember fog from your Parksville days...yesterday it poured rain all day. Fall is here and sweaters, quilted vests and scarves are required to keep cozy. Enjoy your week.

Hi Marilyn...thank you!
Our leaves are turning beautiful shades of gold and red...and the hostas are finally fading ...sadly the deer have been munching on the leaves all summer so they have not looked that great this year. I might move them to the fenced back garden next spring.

Happy Thanksgiving Lesley!
Fall is just kicking in here in King Township. Our leaves are still surprisingly green(and still on the trees) for this time of year.
I'm cooking an organic turkey I bought from Natures Emporium, that I had the butcher flatten for me. Hopefully it will be as good as the local free range I usually buy,

Oh I didn't even notice...
I'll have to caution readers when they come to this site from now on!!

We usually buy free range organic turkeys at Christmas. The flavour is far superior...I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Nothing as exciting as deer attack our hostas just the perennial slugs and snails and the pheasant family from the bordering field! We are having the most beautiful star lit nights clear enough this week to view the Northern Lights. Time to put the garden to bed, just one more new plant to put in before the frosts start.

I did! I love it and am getting into more trouble than ever with so much cargo space :) Barbie is great. She loves running around kicking up all the fallen leaves!

Happy Thanksgiving. I'm looking forward to ours in November. It is always such a joyful time.

You live in beautiful. My recent trip to Canada was fabulous. In addition to Oak Bay in Victoria, we visited Vancouver, Sooke, Chemainus, and the Butchart Gardens, a destination in and of itself. We spent the entire day there. Couldn't believe it was September. Impressive flowers everywhere were reminiscent of springtime or early summer. I'm coming back!
