Hopping back...

It's been a miserable couple of days...
and it was not from over imbibing on NYE!

Cheryl and I both got sick and took to our beds...

We both drank copious amounts of lemon water on NYE in between our cocktail and champagne but both succumbed to a nasty bug...with chills but no fever...no one else got sick.

She rested downstairs in the guest room and I upstairs in the master...
the "fellows" were left on their to fend for themselves.
Thank goodness for frozen convenience food!

Cheryl and John have returned home and I have emailed her and she feels much improved...

Chester stayed at my side while I was in bed and kept me company.
He even went so far as to bring the bunny up from the grand children's toy basket.
Bless his heart...he must have known that I needed some TLC.

I hope the New Year has started off better for you and yours...
I'll be back shortly with a new post...
Take care.

Glad to hear you're feeling a bit better-- I managed to skirt that bug, so far, knock on wood. . . Take care -- easy enough to relapse, so perhaps you'll want to stay close to home with a stack of books, dreaming about your Paris trip. Happy New Year!

So sorry, here too. I've been in bed sick since NY's day. Fever finally broke last night, so hopefully on the mend. 60% of our family that was together on Christmas Day, got sick. Be careful, I've heard about a lot of people relapsing because they did too much to fast. I'm going to take it easy all week.

Oh gosh, feel better soon! I was sick, with the flu, for over a week:(. I hope you recover. That bunny is really, really cute. xoxoxox.

Feel better soon Hostess!

I think it is so sweet that your cat brought up the bunny. We once had a cat (Rachel) who was designated as the nurse cat. If someone was ill, she knew it, and would not leave the side of the sick person.

By the way, I like your bathroom floor. I'm glad you are feeling better. I heard on the news that this year's flu shots may not be effective. THAT is not good news.

Take care! Our NYE was cancelled as our hostess was ill. My daughter couldn't go out as she was sick. Everyone seems to be affected (or infected). It is funny how animals can sense when their humans need care. I hope that you are better soon.

We're coughing and sniffling over here, too. There's a lot of illness going around this winter. Glad you're on the mend.

Thank you mater, great advice.
Fortunately I do have some good books and am keeping warm and cozy.
Hope you stay healthy and dodge this bug.

Yikes it seems to be far reaching...take care of yourself and I hope the wee ones were spared the fever. Take care and rest up Kathy.

Oh a week seems like forever when you are down for the count...
and I don't think you breathed a word about it on your blog...or did I miss it?
I have been so scatter brained these past few weeks.
Hope now you've had it once you'll be immune to any more bouts that you come in contact with.

Thank you I am sure that I am on the mend...I have my appetite back !

He's a very affetionate cat, even though we call him "the troublemaker."
The floor is Mr. HB's doing...he designed it, so I will pass on your comment.
I had the flu shot too and heard that it might not be that effective...but with elderly mothers I feel it is my duty to get that shot, I got one last year when I took Mother for hers and this year when I took her again I got mine.

It certainly sounds like this bug is making the rounds...hope that you will avoid it.
When I was about 6 years old, I was visitng my Grand mother and came down with a severe case of otitus media (Ear infection) and my Gran's cat slept by my side until I was taken to the hospital...it remains one of my most vivid memories to this day.

I suppose we are in what they refer to as flu season...my advice would be to stay home, keep warm and drink lots of fluids. Hope you have some great books at your side.

I hope you're feeling a whole lot better now, Hostess. The air in Edmonton is so very dry that I am feeling parched, and longing for some moist coastal air!

So many, many people have been sick this season! Here in France too! For me it was during Christmas and my Honey (who is NEVER sick) woke up with a cold this morning. So stay strong. It sounds like you are taking good care of yourself and being taken care of too! :)

Oh dear. Tis the season still. So far we've managed to avoid the bugs...probably due to the copious amounts of vitamin C I force on everyone. Rest is the best thing in the world and good for you for knowing that. That Chester is a treasure. What a very sweet thing to do...bless his little, furry heart.

Oh no...I'm sorry you rang in the New Year with the flu. I had that same thing in mid-December. It was the strangest thing ever. I simply could not stop shivering, even when I was tucked in under my comforter with a heated rice bag. I hope you are feeling better now.

Hope you're feel better. What a way to ring in the New Year.
We dodged that bullet (hopes) this season in our house luckily, as a few close friends were really sick. I haven't had the flu since high school, and my son at twenty two, has never had it;( touch wood) so every year I live in fear of it.

I'm so sorry to hear you've been down with it too. It hit my husband two days before Christmas and me, the day after. Stay warm and cosy. I find ginger tea warms me from the inside out and has medicinal properties as well. Feel better soon! xo

Good for Chester playing the gallant! Everybody seems to be sick. I hope your recovery is well underway and love that bunny!

What a sweet kitty and how clever of him! Hope you're on the mend and will be back up to full strength soon. There have been nasty bugs making their way around everywhere it seems.
