Vancouver weekend

We recently spent a weekend in Vancouver...
attended the AGM for the cottage strata, shopped, walked, enjoyed lunches and dinners out.
We also met up with friends we knew when my husband attended school over there...
we have kept in touch...over 40 years!

The view from our hotel.

A wee bit of snow on Grouse Mountain.

We did not stop for tea...

We opted for a Chinese dinner at a small restaurant on Robson Street
after our afternoon walk and shopping.
The food was delicious and obviously a popular spot with the locals
as there was a steady line up outside the door.

A fresh new candle...
and a few goodies in the bags.

Some loose tea...

A refill for my Hermes fragrance.
Mr. HB bought his Hermes scent as well.

We dined at an Italian restaurant called Cin Cin and the food was amazing!

Grilled lettuce with pancetta...
a WOW moment for this Hostess!
It was actually more like a "Meg Ryan" moment.
(the scene from When Harry Met Sally!)

Mr. HB enjoyed Osso Bucco
and I opted for the lamb chops with lentils.
NOM NOM NOM

A single bloom in the bathroom packed a powerful pop of colour.

We enjoyed our weekend getaway in the big city!

We will be busy getting ready for Christmas here in The Humble Bungalow.
The wreath has been hung on the front door
inspired by the Country Living Christmas issue there will be more festive touches coming soon.

Hope that you are enjoying your week.

What a wonderful getaway! Food looks delicious. It's good to get away from it all and pamper yourself a little.

Vancouver is an enjoyable city - we usually spend a day or two on our way to and from Ottawa. What a lovely time you had there, with lots of chic French touches. The Country Living Christmas issue looks beautiful: what a gorgeous wreath on the cover.

That must have been one heck of a salad to inspire a Meg Ryan moment! It did look delicious and I think I will try grilling mixed greens as well. Thanks for the inspiration. Carol in VT

There are wonderful restaurants in Vancouver - what a fun getaway. I have that Christmas magazine, too, and it's inspiring some decorating around here.

The food was amazing...I should have taken a picture of my crab cake salad from the brunch but I was so engaged in conversation that I forgot!

The country Living issue has many great ideas for things to bake and seasonal crafts to make for the home...I am going to keep this issue.
Vancouver has so many great spots to eat and the shopping options are bigger...its easy to spend money when we visit!

Vancouver has grown so much since we lived there....love the shops, places to dine and the scenery. Whister is a wonderful place to visit if you make it to Vancouver...a few hours drive but worth the trip as it is so beautiful.

The grilled lettuce was just so flavourful!
Did you try grilling the loose lettuce mix?

I enjoyed Warlight too...I also loved The English Patient both the book and especially the film.

It was well timed...a little bit of pampering and luxury before the festive season kicks into high gear!

Could you tell me where you get your Marriage Frere tea? A Vancouver friend has been trying to get me some, Happy New Year.

Holt Renfrew carried it before Christmas...I hope they still have some for you!
