My Beach glass collection is filling a Bonne Maman jam jar.
I found these pieces on my beach walks here on Pender Island.
I'll need to find a larger jar soon...
perhaps I'll find a vintage sealer jar as that would match my shell jar collection.
I find mostly white glass...
aren't the greens and blues dreamy shades?
The blue glass floats are vintage finds
as are the icy glass Timo Sarpaneva candle sticks.
There's a beach theme going on here at Quarter Deck Cottage.
Beached sailboat...
cannot help thinking what an apt name this is for this vessel!
Crisp white Barnacles cling to the rocks.
Someone placed these shells atop a vast chunk of driftwood at Mortimer Spit.
Pender Chocolates serve a delicious Hot chocolate made from thick and rich chocolate ganache...
the chocolate shop is a treasure
so many tasty treats
deciding on which ones to choose is a challenge!
My current read is a light hearted romp
a peek into the lives of an eclectic group of people living on an English Avenue.
I am halfway through it and find its a page turner...
Hope that your week is off to a great start...
we awoke to blues skies and sunshine this morning and that's a great gift.

I love collecting sea glass, and the blues and greens are most appreciated for their rarity. Enjoy these blue sky days!
Beautiful beach glass.
You must really enjoy your regular getaways. Today was a sunny day here after a few flakes. Your seaglass is beautiful. You inspired me to put on my seaglass earrings for book club this morning. We discussed Remains of the Day by Kazuo Ishiguro. I saw the movie in the nineties but I had not read the book before. I have no required reading for a bit so I am looking for something light. Enjoy your seaside holiday!
Wasn't it a glorious day?! It was cold here, but the sun shone beautifully. I loved your shot of the sun-bleached barnacles. Your idea of a vintage sealer to hold your growing glass collection is a great one!
It just looks beautiful there! Love your beach glass so much. Thanks for the book recommendation too. Enjoy your time at the cottage! xxx
Love the sea glass - those shades of green & blue are just gorgeous! And that book looks like a lot of fun - I'm going to add it to my wish list!
I love searching for beach glass - I could spend the whole day doing it. It's very meditative I find. Mostly white here too, but it makes the blue and green finds all that more special. Enjoy your week.
There is a beach in Sidney with a good amount of beach glass...just to the right of the pier...not sure if you knew about it or not but I filled a small bag in a short amount of time a few summers ago. Happy Hunting!
I like those tumbled beach glass breaded necklaces that clever creative beaders make too...I must see if I can find one for the cottage!
Did you hear that it snowed in Rome?
The weather has been quite unpredictable lately...
I watched that film years ago and found it very moving...have not read the book.
Hope the sun is shining where you are today!
I just need to find one now...I think Good Things have them from time to time.
Another sunny day here today...will enjoy it while it lasts as there is rain in the forecast. Can see clouds over Swartz Bay...perhaps you are under the blanket of clouds too?
I finished the book...it was a much deeper story than I had originally thought...very well written and a debut novel for Joanna Cannon. I see that she has a new one just out...will have to see if I can reserve it at the library.
Have a lovely week Dani!
The blues and greens are much more exciting than the whites...I have an entire jar of white beach glass at home...it looks nice all by itself without the bright colours competing for the space!!
Plan to head to another beach in a bit and see if I can find some more before the rains come...on which beaches do you like to hunt for beach glass?
Oh, I just read that book a few weeks ago. I loved the children's relationship and personalities. You'll enjoy it, I'm sure!
It was a charming story...loved it! What are you reading now?
I am soldiering through 'The Elegance of the Hedgehog', but despite its many fans, I'm not really won over . . . Still, I am interested enough to carry on to the end and see how I feel then!
Ok, must update that once I got to the middle of the book it "clicked" for me. I think my trouble has been the usual one of reading a translation. I find most translations can be like listening to someone sing off-key.
