~ Vancouver Cruise Ship Terminal ~
We opted to stay one night in Vancouver when our cruise was over...
we haven't been to Vancouver for many years.
We chose not to rush back home...
The city is busy and vibrant...
with lots of people walking around downtown
many of them (like us) are tourists.
We think of Vancouver as the "big city."
Lots of shops that Victoria doesn't have...so it's rather fun to browse.
I visited my favourite shop...
Eileen Fisher on South Granville.
When my husband and I were working we used to go to Vancouver regularly...
for weekend getaways.
We'd go to wonderful restaurants and I would usually buy a few things at this location.
I haven't set foot inside EF since before Covid...
so it was a total JOY to actually be inside.
There is something so wonderful
seeing the clothes in person..feel the fabrics and try on the garments.
The staff are incredibly helpful and very personable.
I tried on (and purchased) this olive green striped top.
Olive Green jacket...also purchased.
On sale at 50% off :-))
I was delighted to see a familiar sign on Robson Street.
BTW their coffee is fabulous!
The last time I was in a Paul Cafe and Bakery was in Paris in 2019.
I don't usually have a treat but the buttery and flaky croissant was too hard to resist!
Later after a walk and a shop
Hubby and I sat out on a patio and had a drink in the sunshine.
We were still technically "on holiday"
so a glass of beer in the mid-afternoon did not feel amiss.
My husband LOVES ramen...
this restaurant was very busy!
We could see it across the street from our hotel.
Obviously quite popular with a long line up,
always a good sign.
We jumped at the chance when there was no line and had a late lunch.
I opted for the "original" small bowl of ramen with mild spice.
Hubby likes his ramen HOTTER so he had the extra spicy version.
SO GOOD!
After a quiet night and a good sleep we packed up the car and headed out.
We drove out to Tsawwassen Mills Mega Mall
located a short distance from The B.C. Ferry Terminal.
Lunch at Milestones was a high protein chicken dish.
(Very tasty)
I'm thinking that my red vintage Coach bag will be a fun pop of colour with the Olive green jacket and striped top.
I might even buy some red socks to wear with the thrifted Sandro loafers.
I'll take my cue from a stuffed Olive :-))
Olives often have red pimentos inside them...
I've been busy decluttering the medicine drawer...
getting rid of outdated over-the-counter medications.
Organizing the contents.
Updating our emergency/Earthquake kit.
Sorting out a few drawers and relocating all my handbags...
they were spilling out of the bedside cupboard.
I have a few (4) vintage Coach bags...
a couple of no name leather bags and a Longchamps Tote.
The black leather Cole Haan backpack is in my bedroom bedside cupboard
as I swap out my regular handbag for the hands free option
when we go to Pender and when I go for longer walks.
I need to devote a day to polish all my Coach bags.
They get scuffed with use and they respond very well to Saddle Soap.
I massage the cream into the leather and then let that soak in
before buffing them with a soft cloth.
Something to add to my rainy day To-Do-List.
The rainy days will be here soon...
those days where I like to stay indoors and cocoon...
make homemade soup, knit and read.
Polish the silver, do some decluttering.
I have recently discovered Homeworthy England and I love watching the episodes.
What are you up to?
I've got a lot of fresh home grown tomatoes and apples to use.
I am making applesauce and roasting tomatoes...
I'm going to sign off for now...
until next time.

What a special treat to go to Vancouver after several years of not visiting it. And all the lovely food in the good shopping. But what most took me was the idea of roasting tomatoes, and making apple applesauce! The little comforts of home are so important now with so much difficulty in the world. Dear Hostess, thank you for sharing and for reminding us.
Love the idea of olive and red together. Lol to the stuffed olive reference. Sounds like a wonderful day in Vancouver. Have a great week!
What a great idea to take a mini vacation on your way home from the cruise. All your meals look so delicious. You deserve a treat. Your new outfit is perfect and I love it with the red Coach purse. I will admit I am a fan of green olives.
Funny how Covid changed everything, isn't it. I remember when you used to write about going to Vancouver from time to time. I have not returned to many pre-Covid places either: life moves on. You EL stripe top is Perfection, and just after my own heart. I can really see the gorgeous red Coach bag with it. What a beautiful collection of bags you have.
Love your striped top and new jacket. We are experiencing cooler temperatures here in southern Ontario, but I don’t really mind as autumn is one of my favourite seasons. Vicki
It's always interesting to visit somewhere after an absence. Your food all looked tasty. The new olive top looks great with those black trousers (I do love those trousers). And getting such a good-looking and usefull jacket for 50% off - so satisfying. Your stuffed olive comment gave me a good laugh. The red bag is such a nice shade of red and shape. I made an impulse purchase yesterday on the way through a mall to the supermarket (no parks left directly outside the supermarket)of a fluffy Grey cardigan I was not so sure about that had 70% off. Turns out it was on my list of things I needed but I had forgotten. We are heading for Summer but this morning is extra cold and the cardigan has come in handy already. Always enjoy your posts. Best wishes from NZ. Kathryn.
Such a lovely little holiday following your cruise. Nice new purchases too.
Beautiful photos. ❤️ Thank you so much for sharing this lovely tour. Warm greetings from a retired lady living in Montreal, Canada ❤️ 😊 🇨🇦
What a nice way to end your holiday, with a mini-holiday in Vancouver. It looks like a lovely sparkling big city. The top and jacket were great finds; the color suits you, and red bags will look very chic. I love your purse collection. It's like your wardrobe, clean-lined and restrained in color. Classic! Loving your vintage Coach bags; they are so timeless and made so beautifully. I remember growing up they were prominently displayed right inside the entrance of my town's local department store, but sadly I didn't appreciate them at all back then. They looked too East Coast (US) and were so expensive for the time. This was long before the vogue of designer bags being available to everyone. I've matured! Now I love their style.
Have a lovely restful weekend,
Erina
I am in the kitchen cooking most hours of every day...my apron gets worn the most of anything I own :-))
Thank you...I've been so focused on getting the house tidied up and back into my walking habit that I have neglected my blog!!
I like green olives too...low in calories and very tasty. I use olive oil in my cooking too and homemade salad dressing.
Covid completely change things...it was a very quiet time for my husband and I...we missed our grandchildren and our kids (adults now ~ of course) The front porch saved my sanity...I sat out there and drank tea and read books! I spent more money on new books than I have ever done before :-))
Vicky...I love autumn too! Sweater weather !!!
I am soon to put the new tee and jacket away for our weather is getting cooler...I am so glad that I purchased the two pieces as they will be a focus for next spring and summer.
Kathryn,
I absolutely LOVE GREY!!! Your cardigan will be a great neutral basic. We are enjoying the fall colour here as you warm up in NZ...I've been neglecting the blog...will write a new post very soon!!
Thank you...
Ooh Montreal is such a fascinating city...my aunt, her hubby and 4 cousins lived there....we visited when I was younger and it was winter time...we had fun in the snow! It seemed like a very upscale city with loads of culture and by all reports it is still vibrant for the arts, dining and shopping.
Hope you are enjoying your retirement.
Erina, I never had designer bags when I was younger and then when my children were babes with only one income that was the last thing I could buy!! I have found them over the past decade...used and in great shape. Coach bags from the 70's and 80's are still available...you can find them on Ebay and Etsy. You might find one in a local consignment shop or if you are lucky at a THrift Store!!
