Welcome to my Teeny Tiny Closet that I share with my Hubby!!
I definitely have a minimal wardrobe...
small closets make it necessary to be restrained.
The black, white, grey and denim basics are all getting lots of wear.
I've had fun finding more denim options...faded Mom Jeans from Mango.
A fleecy denim coloured shirt from Jane Delancey.
The dressy after 5 outfits are small but stored in the closet downstairs.
They co-mingle with the summer linens...
I peeked at the selection today and think I can cull a few more items.
New striped Breton style top...made in Portugal.
Company is Mus & Bombon from Barcelona.
LOVE the texture...
Love the texture YUP I said it again!!
Very cozy.
Have been reading library books every afternoon with a cup of tea...
read the Nina Stibbe book in a couple of days..I liked her other books.
I have started on The Queen of Dirt Island by Donal Ryan...
his books are new to me.
Have you read his books?
World news is TOO much right now...
Am taking a break from it and exploring (escaping) in the fun shops of our fair city!
Victoria Gourmet Food Market on Broughton is FABULOUS!!!
The owner is friendly and so knowledgeable...the food is above and beyond!!
All the charcuterie board basics are available and
with an extra punch of unique and exotic items to make it an incredibly special experience.
I like to think of this as "The Wall of Pasta!"
Please go in and introduce yourself to Cherilee and tell her I sent you!!
I am going to go back and get my charcuterie board and pasta favourites soon...
We are so fortunate to have so many energetic women entrepreneurs here in Victoria!
Wherever you live please support your local businesses.
Buy Local...chat with the owners
like they do in France and become regular shoppers it is a wonderful experience...
knowing who sells you the goods that you use and need on a weekly basis.
It feels real and genuine to have a dialogue with the people who supply our foods.
We are planning some changes in The Humble Bungalow Garden...
busy getting ahead of the season with our wonderful local garden crew
from
Susanne Osmond Garden Design.
We are going to be on the Victoria Hospice Fundraising Teeny Tiny Garden Tour this June.
It is finally "pay back" for the care they gave Mom in her final days.
I hope to auction off a painting too for garden visitors...proceeds go to Hospice.
Well I haven't much more news to report...
BUT
perhaps I should mention that My Instagram is now Private.
I had a deluge of "MEN"...all claiming to be doctors
who were wanting to follow me!
REALLY?
I think they were JUST BOTS...
so I am now hoping to stay under the radar...
Hope you are staying sane with all the crazy stuff going on in our world...
What are you doing these days?
Any exciting news to share...

I do love a Breton top, and yours is fabulous. You have a very chic wardrobe. The gourmet food market looks fantastic, beautifully arranged as well as delicious. We don't have anything like that around here (unfortunately). That is wonderful that you are showing your garden in a Teeny Tiny Garden tour and fundraiser. I'm sure you and all the visitors will enjoy the day. I loved it last year when our local Probus Group came to our garden. That is weird re Instagram. I made my account private about a year ago. Crazy stuff around the world, and right here in our own city too. Sometimes one has to just turn off and tune out. I am busy assembling a minimal wardrobe to take on our next overseas trip where we will see a lot of operas and concerts. Planning is part of the fun.
Another great post! so excited to hear and see more about your garden it is already so beautiful.
Love your new sweater, I like stripes too. I have not been doing too much due to the snow here in Ontario, but our temperatures are warming a bit this week so hoping for some melting and lunch out at the end of the week for my 70th birthday. Vicki
Your blog is truly one of the ways I counterbalance the bigger world. Thank you for writing and sharing. That market is perfect!
So you were "friended" doctors, huh? Mine were all retired military men with puppies and grandchildren. Yes, I went private, too.
Sorry about the instagram nonsense. I miss viewing your great photos.
What a great food store...would love to visit. Same here...usually military men that "love" my photo and my spirit - What??? Have a great day!
Your posts are always so enjoyable -- I love the variety of subjects you touch on! The sweater is lovely and looks well-made! And, that market! Good thing I don't live nearby. But what a treasure that is. I get the military men, too.
Planning a wardrobe for travel is a great exercise! It took me quite a few weeks to get it right for my first trip to Paris...was definitely worth the advance planning.
We are having fun with the changes that we are implementing..things that have been on the back burner for a few years. The local Hospice is such a great charity and they provide a much needed service and support to our local cancer patients.
Layla...we are adding more colour, plants and an expanded back bed. We have two new terra cotta pots and our landscaper has some great ideas for other areas of the garden. It will be a busy Spring as we get ready for the tour!
Hi Vicki,
What date is your 70th? Happy birthday!
Mine is March 3rd...
Stripes and polka dots are my idea of pattern in a minimalist wardrobe! I think being short has scared me off of bold prints and big patterns!!!
Maudie, Thank you for reading my little blog :-))
The market is such a great spot to buy food items...we all need to eat and having some variety and exotic imported additions makes it a richer experience.
I think the doctors were military doctors!!!! Yes there were puppies...it must fool some people?
Do you have an Instagram account? What is your name?
I have heard from many who call me "dear" and they are very polite but I am not "in the market" for a relationship...Have fun Ann!
Beth B ~ There must be a formula that these "bots" use to try and friend us! I haven't figured out what it is exactly but a friend said she switched her photo to one of her cat and they stopped!!!
Thank you for the birthday wishes, Feb. 28th is my birthday. I agree about the bold patterns when we are on the shorter side. Vicki
Happy birthday Leslie! I have read and enjoyed your blog for many years and I don’t know if I’ve ever commented… May I reach out to you on IG?
Happy birthday Hostess! We share a birthday on March 3. I hope your family doted on you yesterday. My mother baked me a cake for the first time in 35 years so it was a special day for me. thank you for the lovely blog post and the small bits of joy that you bring us. ~ avicennia
Hi Vicki,
Hope you had a great birthday celebrating YOU!
Ginger I hope that you request to join my Instagram...what is your Instagram account name so that I know...many people do not have pictures or use their real names so often times I don't allow them to join...
Avicennia, I hope that you had a fabulous birthday !! Your mom's homemade cake would have been a highlight for sure.I have been busy everyday with lunches and dinners out...I feel very honoured to have been invited out. I'll probably write a post next week when the birthday celebrations have finished :-)) Thank you for reading and leaving your comment...I enjoy hearing from readers.
I've been getting your Instagram posts as usual, hadn't realized you'd set it to private. The requests I get are from young ladies, no doubt wanting me to send money for some very dubious photos!!!
