~ OOTD ~
Dressing in some colour this morning...
I'm needing some positivity and energy and colour usually does the trick.
I've popped on this thrifted Banana Republic top with some basic black pants.
Added a wee bit of Burts Bees Cheek Blush and a slick of Miss Pupa lip gloss.
The colour on my face is subtle but does give me a lift.
Do you like dressing in bright colours?
Do you find the addition of a pop of colour perks you up?
I think colour gives me more energy.
Last week was a tough one going to the hospital daily for treatments.
It was a tiring process but I received very good care.
I am home now
still under the care of the infectious disease doctor
so I am not straying too far from home.
I am doing what I am told...
Staying hydrated and resting.
Chester wants to be on my lap a lot when I am sitting down :-))
If I try to knit when he is awake I don't get much knitting done.
My Miriam sweater project is getting closer to being finished.
The two sleeves are done and attached to the body of the sweater.
I am working on the raglan decreases...
It is very simple soothing work.
Reading is not to difficult with a cat on one's lap...
I read Fresh Water For Flowers by Valerie Perrin and really enjoyed it.
Three is another book by Valerie which has been translated into English.
I am not too far into the story but it has all the signs that I will be loving the book.
Her writing is great and the characters are very interesting.
She's a very insightful author...
I'm going to close this post and keep it short.
Hopefully I will have more news to share with you soon.
In the meantime take care of yourselves and have FUN!
Thank you for stopping by The Humble Bungalow Blog.

You're looking great in the Banana Republic top, with the lip gloss toning nicely with the stripes. Daily hospital appointments sound gruelling, but you're being treated and monitored and following instructions...what more can you do?Reading a good book with a cat on your lap seems a pretty good way to feel rested.
Here's hoping the antibiotics do their work.
Colour can be very uplifting. I used to wear black, grey and navy a lot but after I stopped colouring my hair in 2020 I found I needed to wear more colour to stop looking washed out and now I rarely wear dark or dull colours close to my face. Your lipstick and blush are very pretty. I do hope your infection clears up soon. It sounds very debilitating and you’re wise to act on the doctor’s advice, best wishes, Maria
I'm a big believer in colour therapy through our clothes! Red is a very powerful colour - good for boosting your mental energy. Sending you good vibes that your hospital visits will soon ebb. Glad Chester is keeping you safe. :)
I'm not sure I've ever commented on your blog. If not, I owe you a big "Thank You". Your photos and text are a balm for me. I live in Seattle, so my climate (and even the Arts & Crafts houses) are familiar but still are a welcome reminder of the beauty in everyday things and in a pleasant outlook.
For your health, I am hoping that the many blessings you send out return to you a hundredfold and are healing to your body and spirit.

Colour definitely lifts one’s mood and although I like neutrals they need to be tempered with some colour
IMO. Good to hear that although hospital visits are draining you are obviously getting excellent care and following up at home by doing what the dr ordered. Hope you turn the corner soon and are back to good health again. I have to thank you for recommending the Andalou CC cream. Love it.
Erika ~ Thank you for your comment...I am not used to being a patient but I know that I am getting good care. Hope to be back to "normal" soon!
Maria ~ My grey hair changed the colours that I wear too! I have added brighter shades of lipstick and use more mascara now...I think it adds a bit more definition.
Sheila ~ You are never shy when it comes to colour! I think that you have artistic tendencies and channel them through your clothes!
Susan S ~ Seattle is a beautiful spot to live...we have visited many times. Arts and Crafts Homes seem to be very popular on the west coast...I like their simplicity and warm wood details. The front porches are such a lovely place to sit and relax and greet people walking past. Thank you for taking the time to say hello :-))
Christine ~ I love the Andalou products...I use the CC cream every day...I am now using their lines of Age defying products (purple bottles and jars) but I still use the Rose CC cream...I also use their lotions and for the pool their ravel sized body wash and shampoo.
You look fabulous in that top...and the pops of color - the lips - are great! I am always amazed at how a little bit of color can make a big difference. Lipstick - or a quick swipe of lip gloss - always makes me perk up. Glad you are feeling better....it's hard to rest, isn't it? We just got over Covid that we picked up at a holiday picnic...and still feel so tired. So rest, take it easy, and have a great rest of the month !
I love your outfit and your choices of colors. You are looking great. The antibiotics are doing their job. I've been treated with IV antibiotics followed by oral antibiotics and know what you are going through. When you see your doc, ask about gut health as this will require some restoration after the antibiotics. I am glad you are feeling better...and looking well.
I use Burt's Bees Cheek Blush as well and really like it. So easy to sweep on and works better with this increasingly dry skin! Hope you're starting to feel better!
Ann ~ Getting Covid at an outdoor picnic is so frustrating hope that you are feeling better! Have fun blogging.

Susan ~ I am sorry to hear that you had to go through this same experience...I am starting to feel stronger. How long did it take you to bounce back?
I am eating yogurt a few hours after my antibiotic pill and taking probiotics for gut health, hope to avoid n yeast infection.
Jeannine ~ Burts Bees have so many great products! I like the cream blush and it is subtle and easy to use...dry skin seems to be a post menopausal "thing!." I am always using serums and creams.
I felt better after a week on IV antibiotics in the hospital. At discharge, I was on Cipro for another two weeks. I felt better but yeast problems hit me hard. This was treated but it took nearly a year for me to restore gut bacteria. Do everything you can to restore your good bacteria. Today, I am told cranberry juice is excellent for the gut. Also, Metagenics has great gut health supplements. I worked with a Functional Medicine MD and a Nutritionist to build my health. I hope you continue to feel better and avoid the yeast issue.
Hi Leslie, very flattering top, good find. Sending you wishes for a speedy recovery very soon, take good care. From Rita, Victoria.
Susan ~ Thank you so much for sharing your experience with me...I am eating Greek yogurt and taking Probiotics and truly hope to avoid a yeast infection.
Time will tell...hope all is well with you.
