Spring time is such a beautiful season here in Victoria.
Flowering cherry and plum trees line the boulevards and gardens are bursting forth with blooms.
I walked with no particular route in mind
the sun was shining
so I leisurely meandered along the streets
weaving my way through town
until I found myself at the thrift shop.
I do not "need" anything right now so I just perused the racks...
until I spied this scarf, in new condition, with tags still attached.
You may know that I have a weakness for scarves!
You may know that I have a weakness for scarves!
They are small and do not take up much space and can be used to add a punch of colour to even the most basic of outfits...
Pink and Green Vintage Echo Silk Scarf
Here are a few of the scarf ties that I regularly wear.
I think it will go quite nicely with my new navy and white polka dot trench coat.
I'll know that I will be wearing it with my jeans and tees and black pants and crisp white shirt.
The pop of "preppy" colour makes me feel energized and happy.
I spied this wee bunny in a garden on my walk home...
it was munching the grass and seemed quite relaxed while I snapped a few photos.
Thank you for all the lovely comments and encouraging get well wishes that you have left on my blog. I really appreciate them and they have helped me immensely.
I have been catching up on some much needed sleep.
Three months of fitful sleep due to discomfort and pain have taken their toll.
The muscle relaxant that the specialist prescribed for me at bedtime has been amazing.
Two nights of restful slumber has helped me get my happy face back on!
Thank you for stopping by...

Those fat pink blossoms are my favourite! You are a whiz at scarf tying! I am in awe!
ReplyDeleteMerci...and the spring blossoms are certainly cheerful!
DeleteFrom Margie in Toronto - I do envy you that scarf - it is so pretty - such lovely bright colours.
ReplyDeleteIt was a great find...now I am on the hunt for a yellow one to go with my new navy and white polka dot trench!
DeleteThat scarf is gorgeous! What a great find! Hope that you are starting to feel a little better. I can relate...horrible constant knee pain til my knee replacement surgery. Some days I can't even walk! I envy that you could walk and walk and wonder and then find a beautiful scarf!!! Hopefully I will be walking well in a few months! How long do they think your shoulder will take to recover?
ReplyDeleteMy RMT has magic hands...she is working at all the kinks and knots and really giving me some pain relief. The specialist says it will be a year before my frozen shoulder thaws...so I must be patient.
DeleteOh I am sorry to hear about your knee...that is something that would be a challenge. I hope that your replacement surgery is scheduled sooner rather than later...Tish Jett who writes a blog and has written a fabulous book had that surgery too...do you follow her? A Femme D'Un Certain Age, she wrote about her knee replacement last year.
Please keep in touch Suzy.
This post comes across as so much lighter and I am glad for you. I hope that you will begin to feel better as quickly as possible - that bright scarf will do its part!
ReplyDeletePondside it is amazing what several good nights of sleep can do for one's disposition! The muscle relaxants really help...and a cheery scarf does perk up the simple garments that I wear.
DeleteHope all is well in your little cottage by the sea...

ReplyDeleteGlad you are finally able to get some sleep from that painful shoulder. That splash of color from the scarf is amazing. The perfect compliment to an outfit. ENJOY!
ReplyDeleteThank you...and yes sleep can be so restorative...sleep depravation is horrible.
DeleteThere is a sign up in the clinic where the specialist practices that mentions sleep is critical to the health of muscular skeletal systems.
I have worn this scarf to elevate my casual attire as I walk in our neighbourhood...it is just so cheery.
Love the pictures and am jealous of your perfect weather and THAT SCARF!
ReplyDeleteThe weather is not always sunny here but the flowers are putting on a grand show even when it rains...and if the skies are grey I have a sunny scarf to wear!
DeleteScarf is so cheerful and I love the different colors it displays depending on the fold.
ReplyDeleteSpoken by a true scarf lover!
DeleteWhat a great find! Perhaps one day soon you'll shoot a video on how to tie a scarf? I love the different variations you show, but am not sure I could manage to get any of mine to look that that.
ReplyDeleteGreen with envy over your springtime blossoms in Victoria. We're still slogging through cold gray rainy and snowy days here in Enfield, CT, and the forsythia are just starting to bud and shyly flower.
I am not very tech savvy on the video front but have sourced Mai Tai's site so that you can view some excellent tutorials.
DeleteHope Spring is not too far off for you in CT.
So many beautiful pinks! Your scarf will look so cheery with your raincoat. It is wonderful that you can sleep now.
ReplyDeleteSleeping better is such a gift...I wore that scarf with my raincoat in Vancouver.
DeleteThe weather on your side of the pond last weekend was amazing!
Those are great colours. Great find!
ReplyDeleteHave been reading your blog and lots of exciting things are happening for you.
DeleteCongratulations!
I love your spring scarf--and also the photo of the bunny. And I hope your sleep will improve as your shoulder gets better.
ReplyDeleteThe bunny IS pretty cute...
DeleteMr. HB said in a rather alarmed tone..."Where did you see that Bunny?"
"I hope it doesn't come to our garden and eat all our veggies!"
You're like an artist with that one little scarf.
ReplyDeleteNothing like a good sleep to make you feel like a new person.
Lol. I didn't mean you look like an artist. You tie it so many lovely ways.
DeleteYour comment of an artist is a compliment!
DeleteBeautiful pictures Leslie ....and the scarf is gorgeous, perfect for Spring/Summer. So glad the muscle relaxant worked and you had a more relaxed nights sleep. It's hard to cope with anything if you're not getting good quality sleep.
ReplyDeleteTake care and have a lovely weekend ....hope the sun shines for you! It's a beautiful day here today ...bright blue skies dotted with fluffy white clouds! Perfect!
Rosie
The sun did shine brightly...we were fortunate that there was such lovely weather for all the walking we did...I had to take off my coat on occasion as it was so warm!
DeleteI love the scarf, so whimsical, very vintage Lily Pulitzer style. Hope your shoulder improves soon.
ReplyDeleteLily Pulitzer was exactly the thought that came to me when I spired the vintage scarf...Echo offer some great designs.
DeleteI did write a comment before but it disappeared into cyber space. Loving the colours and your new scarf Leslie it is a great find. Glad you are getting some pain relief and a good nights sleep. Have a lovely weekend.
ReplyDeleteThank you Karen...cyberspace dissolves a lot of my comments too.
DeleteSo pleased to hear that pain free days with good sleep have put the spring back in your step, just like that happy hopping cute bunny. You look so happy in your new scarf too, another little bit of good medicine!
