I like the simplicity of making it and heating it up daily is fast!

Jeannine ~ The sourdough starter can be stored in the fridge and lasts a long time...I know if you keep it on the counter it requires daily tending...and I can see how one might get tired of the maintenance...If I can do it anyone can :-))

Kelly ~ Hope you had a great Saint Patrick's Day...sun shone here and it was really warm!

Tahoe Girl ~ Oh Napa sounds lovely...living there must be wonderful. I am new to Farmhouse on Boone. I have not explored much other than her sourdough recipes which are great...I can easily sift through stuff without getting too involved.

Brenda N ~ Oh I would love to see a photo of your vintage pins and brooches...Artistic creations are a feast for the eye.
Sourdough bread is very rewarding for me...I enjoy the entire process and we love the bread. Soup making has been a habit in my repertoire for many years...I like using up leftovers and soups are great for using up these small bits in the fridge. I did a crockpot lentil soup that we had with sourdough for two days this weekend. It's the easiest and most delicious soup recipe. I toasted my bread and on day 2 my husband did too. I haven't attempted to make it myself, but your photos of crusty golden brown loaves are inspiring.
I have a drawer full of pins, vintage and new. I don't wear them much lately, but they make me happy to see, little works of art.
Take careBrenda Nhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03131964747170470910noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5385735624350758337.post-25211217322630015202024-03-18T07:15:02.354-07:002024-03-18T07:15:02.354-07:00I make soup frequently and i also pressure can sou...I make soup frequently and i also pressure can soups so they are shelf stable. I also have been baking sour dough for years and use a basic no knead recipe from King Arthurs website. I used to watch lisa on Farmhouse on Boone when she actually lived on Boone street. I liked her then but cant stand her now. She bcame a 'influencer' and product of her own making. And although, I'm sure many would disagree with me, having that many kids is just over populating. Plus, she has a religious bent which I abhor.
Just my two cents, though.
We're enjoying being in Napa valley right now and the weather is glorious. Your magnolia is magnificent. What a beautiful flower it has. Years and years ago I had a sourdough started going, but at some point I gave it up as I felt ruled by it! Haha! I like to make all different kinds of recipes, not just sourdough, but you need to keep using the sourdough starter or dumping some every week. I finally decided it just wasn't for me. I always use organic vegetables, nearly always a head of celery and as many vegetables as I can. This lasts me for a week as my husband is not keen on vegetable soup. Good for you for keeping up with your health and check ups. After my husband's heat attack we try to eat very healthy...and failed at that on a recent road trip for my birthday, so now we are back on our food plan. Kudos for the colonoscopy...I need to go every 2-3 years due to the same issues and a family history. My father died at age 60 from colon cancer...before there was a test that we are blessed to have. You look radiant in every picture. I've never heard of anyone staying awake for a colonoscopy. I always get knocked out - the Specialists preference. Though I think I'd opt for the nap anyway, had I the option. Currently recovering from concussion. I managed to scone myself while working in the garden. We we were all slowly recovering from Covid and I was a bit slow off the mark paying attention. Thoughts elsewhere. I always enjoy your posts. I love the good news about dark chocolate, and may well take it up as an afternoon treat. Your new glasses are gorgeous, very chic and lovely with the beret and rhinestones. You stayed awake during a colonoscopy! I have never heard of anyone doing that. Bad luck re the 3 polyps. Mine is due next month, and they usually find 2-3, so I have to keep being tested. My mother had colon cancer late in life. The Australian Government does not 'suggest' these health checks after age 75, but many of us keep on with it, and why not, particularly if there is family history. I am turning 72 shortly, and have an appointment with the'Elder Health Team' at our local hospital. They said to allow a good hour for this...
